I miss my DCT 135i so much, Birds worked their magic on it and it’s been the best car I’ve ever owned. It was the perfect balance between modern and classic. No iDrive, no hud… just a banging stereo and amazing engine ….

I have had mine (same colour earlier n54 model) for 8 years now. Amazing cars, still struggle to find anything to replace it with. Great all round proper quick car, small enough to get in small single garage too. True future classic.

I daily the n54 version running stage 3 with bolt ons. It’s around 440bhp and honestly it’s insane. Had it for 5 years and will keep it even when I buy a new car. If you’re in the U.K. I highly recommend BM Specialist in Hitchin. He lives and breathes modding these cars and will take care of you.

Owner opion… N54 is for Tuner potential! Facelifted N55 power and reliable! If you want a proper steering car get those M3 arms in and a proper coilover set and H&R Swaybars !!! I have a 2011 LeMans N55 DCT with ST XTA, M3 Arms, H&R swaybars, Stage 2+, XHP Stage3 and a proper alligment! Absolute corner weapon!! M2 Killer😍 It is my second e82 135i its a absolute good car and lovely rwd begin car!

I owned a 2011 model 135i DCT n55. Worked it to COBB stage 2+ , pulled 700nm. Absolute rocket. I truly enjoyed the speed. Perfect design

Previously had a n55 335i, then went to an m135i, then back to an n54 335i and loved all of them, under 400bhp id go for the m135i, over 400 get the n54 all day long, they have their problems but for me it was a lot smoother of an engine, all brilliant cars for the money, now in a gt86 half the power but double the slides with that lsd, recommend you get a gt86 on the channel ricky, brilliant useable power compared to all the high powered cars everyone cant afford and truly learn you to be a better driver

@@bluesky8872 brilliant cars honestly, in the dry you have to unbalance the car more and move the weight to slide rather than just use your right foot but teaches you to drive the car rather than rely on power, you find it makes you really drive the car too as you have to carry speed through the bends to keep up with other cars, in the wet the cars very loose but doesnt feel dangerous at the same time due to the lsd, its good knowing i aint braking the speed limit to have fun everywhere i go as with the m135i its a license loser, the harder you drive the gt86 the more rewarding it is, proper drivers car despite 200bhp

@@bluesky8872 @shaneomac i have a brz and i think that unless you spend 6+ k on modifying it its not that good of a car to daily. Cabin rattles too much because boot has no sound deadening. Stock breaks fade out very quick and are way too small and stock wheel and tyre setup is poor. It needs 255s all around or 255 front 265 rear with coilovers, rear lower control arms and headers to get rid of the mid range torque dip or it will feel completely gutless. Once these mods are done it becomes a fantastic car though. Needs a big brake upgrade too unless you get the factory brembo option

Love the e82, I own the 125i coupe with the 3ltr naturally aspirated straight 6 and although it doesn't have crazy power figures it certainly feels like you are going faster than you are and it is such a joy to drive! Nice video :)

I have an E82 N55 in Germany. Specs: Brown leather, no sunroof, no iDrive, 6SM, LCI, Msport, Stage 1+. Fun car, odometer got 90,000km & I'm letting it hibernate in garage for winter. Every time I get in it I want to joyride it for ages & circle back onto the autobahn near me. The factory bmw performance exhaust sounds amazing, inline six without OPF. BMW would never make a car this loud these days.

I have owned a 135i… totalled because of aquaplaning… i test drove 3 M3’s…. E92 M3 Manual, E92 DCT and E46 M3 SMG… and i bought again a e82 135i N55, upgraded M3 Arms, H&R Swaybars, ST XTA! Absolut corner weapon! Faster than the V8 and the M2!

Clearly you know nothing about N54/N55 platform then, MHD ots maps are the go to tune for these engines. Most tuners even use MHD for custom tuning data logs when doing it remotely, it's the single biggest BMW aftermarket performance mod for these engines. Do some research...

N54 all the way, German 2JZ & Nankang NS2R's are W@nk why are they so popular, Michelin all the way, Cup 2 Connect ideally or PS4S. No idea why people cheap out on tyres when it's the main thing that puts all your power & handling to the road.

I have 255/35/R18 on my E82 with 350hp & I can barely break traction unless I really try a hard launch. The 255 are all season tires. Before that I had worn 245 MPS summer tires in the rear & they had no noticeable bigger amount of grip. So for daily & chance of rain, Im actually happy with the all seasons.
