Sold my Carbon Black manual M3 in 2014. She had 117000 miles on her when she went. It was a 52 plate, put the later LED lights on the rear, reconditioned Vanos (Mr Vanos) , reinforced boot floor, new clutch and uprated brakes. Still see her around my home town with the guy tya6 bought her.

Calvin the gear selector light was flashing because you had your door open. SMG won’t engage gear if the door or bonnet is open

Check the bonnet switch. It can get stuck or work loose preventing gear selection.

With those old SMG gearboxes I’d say that it getting up to temp has more to do with it functioning properly than the dead battery issue. Car seems to have been maintained very well mechanically tho. Seems to run well for the miles it’s got on it. Lovely E-46 M3👌🏽🔥🔥

That rust on the rear arches could likely require quite a major repair... By the time you can see it on the outside, the inner arch will be wrecked. I speak from experience.

Hey mate, The gear is flashing because the front door or bonnet was open. Shut them and car should be all good to be driven. I've got a SMG M3 and had this pissing me off for a day till I figured it was the bonnet not shut properly. Just default warning telling driver something is not shut properly :)

check the wing mirror baseplates for corrosion. also, the auto-dimming rearview mirror can fail and drop it's fluid all over the centre console area! - check out MirrorJohn for a fix/refurb unit. cheers

Comes up clean when it's washed and polished and levered a know that lot and it's really nice Needs to gearbox works now and all about a lot of nice color that is as well The wheels have come up nice as well You've got a nice selection of BMW there 🙂🙂🙂🙂

The reason the gear indicator was flashing is because you had the door open. Close the door and the number will be solid. Nothing to do with the battery

It's gorgeous man. Can't wait until you've done your thing to it & VRS has give it a once over n a tune. Don't need too much either, A nice big Induction kit would make it sound epic, New Exhaust maybe too, New Brakes, New Suspension maybe(springs) & the usual stuff like clean up the lights, get new Badges as they're faded both front & rear, interior refresh(plastics n polish seats) & done. What a car 👍🏻😁
