That motor sounds sweet! My Dad had a 49 Olds that he hopped up and drag raced in the 50"s . Hearing that exhaust reminded me of all the stories he used to tell. Love what you guys do.

I prefer the 32's and Model A's full fender'd and at least all one color but this car is "ultra-cool" in that it instantly reminds you of the hot rods of "the day" that used to "glide away" from a stop sign like they were already going a hundred miles per hour. Those Olds motors with the LaSalle trans were pretty "torqee" so it must be a blast to drive. The reaction from the two passengers tells it all !!! Always need to make those "final adjustments" to remove all the "bugs". GREA JOB !!! 👍👍👍🛠⚙🔩

@@robertsmith6188 . No mate, those diffs are ok but won't take much punishment. Ok for this car as long as he doesn't flog it too much. The weak point of the old early Ford diffs that you guys call banjos is the keyway pin at the end of the axle, they used to shear. I can't for the life of me remember what my dad used to call them. It might be a sign of getting older or the several scotches I consumed watching this great video. Cheers from Australia.

Sounds great! To get a non-synchro trans into First gear, I always put it in High (3/4) to stop the gears from spinning then First will engage almost silently. A lower idle and "double-clutching" if you're not completely stopped help too. Just my two cents from an old guy who grew up driving even older cars. I built a 42 Chevy truck in 1975.

I grew up when things like this were all over the place. I the early and mid sixties when you had a car like this you would call it a Jalopy. The Schroll Coupe Japoly! It's a really cool looking ride, especially because of where the seating arrangement is. You are sitting basically in the rear seat part of the car and you are right there behind the pillar. It looks like it would be pretty fast too. I know you didn't have your foot very far into t when you kinda goosed it there in the video. Looks like it would make a pretty good 1/4 mile time.
