First Ever Bookshelf Tour | Many, many book recommendations!

Hello, we finally shot a bookshelf tour! This is our home library that we built bit by bit over a span of more than 7 years. Our collection has gone through many, many stages and phases where we've hauled and unhauled so many books. And this is what has remained as of now in August 2022.
It took a really long time for us to shoot and edit this video, so I hope you like it. :)

Woaaa! This is HUMONGOUS!!!! I wonder if you guys ever ended up buying the same books more than once cause you didn't remember you already had one 😅 Also, a quick question- how do you manage to maintain the books in open shelves especially in Mumbai's weather? Mine degrades with yellow spots all over!

Hey Radhika.. haha, that has happened once or twice, but we keep both copies just as enthusiastically. The more, the merrier! 🤓📚📚 We often get the same books but different translations, for example Tolstoy’s War and Peace. To be honest, we do nothing to maintain or preserve the quality and condition of the books we have. Just dust, clean, wipe, etc. regularly. The sea is just a minute away from where we live, so the weather is quite damp and humid here, nonetheless we don’t do much. The yellow spots and all just add more character, or at least we believe that’s the case.

This is so far superior to the usual Colleen Hoover and Fantasy and Horror and "I bought it because -- LOOK at that cover!" and Romance and good god, shut up. Your books are from another dimension altogether. I must admit, though, that I'm not smart enough to read most of these volumes. Seriously. Overall, this is a 5+. Well done to both of you.

Hello! Do you perhaps have a google document with the books you have read/own or want to read? Perhaps even with your personal score or recommendations highlighted? I like the reviews you do and the recommends you give in your videos. But they are already so many hahaha. No idea where to start or what i should buy first. If not possible, what would your recommendation be for a book complimentary or similar to "the denial of death"? It's my favourite, as it has had the most impact on the way i think about life. Beautiful collection! I wish to have a similar one some day in the future. How do you clean the house with the books being on the floor? Where I live, they'd be caked with dust in no time lol. Anyways, this video was nice. Cute cats too.

Thank you so much. It's taken me years to build this fort! :):) Oh the books do collect dust, and pet dander too, but I manage to keep the shelves and the books on the floor clean. I use a dusting brush on them 2-3 times a week. That gets the job done, thankfully. Also, I live on the outskirts of Mumbai, so not a lot of dust gets collected. Moisture, on the other hand, tends to interfere a lot because of the close proximity to the sea.

There are too many, honestly. But why don't you start with Murakami - The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle or Kafka on the Shore. You can also read Arundhati Roy's God of Small Things. There's Charles Dickens, Emily Brontë, Virginia Woolf (To the Lighthouse especially), Anton Chekhov's Plays, Toni Morrison's Beloved, Song of Solomon, or any other, Gabriel García Márquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude. It's a never-ending list. Haha.

Every book reveals a new side of life to me. With every read, my inner and outer worlds make more and more sense. But it's always changing too, nothing remains. I guess that's what books have taught me.
