Wow!! Those fish are so beautiful. I did not know that yellow tangs were not captive-bred. But I mean I am a freshwater scrub lol.

Hawaiian institute captive bred them quite sometime back however it’s not readily available till recent years due to the ban. Good to see institutions out there trying to protect the ocean !

For the first time ever I also saw one on a Chinese wholesaler list. It cost about 1600 yuan or about 228 USD. Biota’s site says 150 US so in China they’re quite a bit more expensive at the moment but hey, good to see more captive bred fish!

Yeah captive bred prices are still pretty high 😅

@@SingaporeReefAquaculture 😄 But totally worth it compared to wild ones which may require several attempts to succeed for the more difficult species.

Hey man, I’ve been following your channel from time to time. How’s your captive bred Venustus and Multibar Angels doing? And do you sell fish and corals yourself? Would love to check out your store but I’m not living in SG.

Hello ! Thank you for following the channel !! Ermm Venustus is doing well, however the captive bred multibar didn’t make it though.. where are you from ?
@AbsoluteZero67143 жыл бұрын
@@SingaporeReefAquaculture Hey there I’m currently living in Guangzhou, China but I’m Chinese-Canadian. I know about the Multibar, do you think it didn’t make it because it was too stressed being a tiny fish and put into a tank with many larger fish?

thanks for the video but hard to understand you in the mask. Also have you seen the tang graze on algae yet? wonder if captive bred tangs will not do it as well?
@SingaporeReefAquaculture3 жыл бұрын
Really sorry about the audio part but mask is really very annoying I do agree as well ! Can't wait for the country to finally be mask free again !! Regarding your question, I do see the captive bred yellow tangs started to graze immediately on my rock works hence I don't think there will be an issue with them not doing that well compared to wild ones

I hope Biota will work with the glofish company to produce a red, blue, purple, green, pink glowing fluorescent Tang fish. I am tired of the yellow color.
