@@tanneremail3237 I know that a lot of people feel that, but it’s a pretty lazy perspective and it doesn’t recognize the “why” behind decisions like moving to another platform. I downloaded Rumble and started watching SLS on that. It took a few minutes, and I hardly had to lift a finger. I truly don’t understand why people can’t just be flexible when it comes to receiving free content from other people’s hard work. It’s ridiculous. People are ridiculous. I think a lot of it is just a lack of wisdom, perspective, and life experiences. So often people sound and act like spoiled children. The near Foy Team comeback is exactly the feeling this league is capable of. Also, strategy-wise, would have been cool to see teammates throw down easy tricks to allow the more “on fire” skater time to cook. Also also, kudos to Koston for really going for it 💪🏻 Great work all! Excited for the next.

They should base teams on board sponsors. Primitive picks two dudes, Santa Cruz picks two, Plan B two, Baker, April, etc. Would make it more interesting and also promote the brands participating. And instead of jerseys, matching brand tees. And Team Powell seams more appropriate than P-rods team considering you're kind of undermining Deshaun.
@sk8_bort
@sk8_bort 5 күн бұрын
that would limit things too much. It's more fun to watch some randomness in the teams. Not to mention that some brands have more than double the amount of skaters, some of them specialize in different types of skateboarding, etc

@illiturit1151
@illiturit1151 5 күн бұрын
@@sk8_bort , meh, the randomness is a turn off for me. I doubt they'll pair up these same skaters again, so what's the point? Nobody's going to emotionally invest, whereas if you like a specific brand you'll have a rooting interest in that brand, regardless of who they send. And, if the next event is a rail, then whatever company sends it's best rail skaters to make it competitive. I don't know, seems like they're trying to do something different, something more sport/team oriented, and if so, then go all the way with. Or, at least like a game of pick-up basketball let the "captain" pick his team. They should've flesh this idea out a bit more and came out swinging. Regardless, they'll probably get a lot of decent feedback in the comments (one person suggested [like the UFC] 3 round semis [like prelims] and 5 round finals [like championships] which would be an improvement). Whatever. PSL. Yippee!

Here’s a little tweaking I think could help- 1- make the semi finals 3 rounds And the finals 5 rounds. 2- if a skater does a trick and the other team thinks they can both do the trick. Say for instance a kickflip. The team on defense can decide to both go for the trick and if both land it the other team gets a strike/miss, however if they do both decide to go for the trick and 1 of them miss, than the team on offenses gets 2 points. (That would make the teams strategize a little more, Instead of potentially having to go through watching a bunch of basic tricks in row) also that equalizes it for the team that has to defend first, and it would make for a better/less drawn out battle. 3- defense should have a little bigger margin for error Other than that it was great, can’t wait for the next one!

Really nailed the competition more with a “sport like” feel. Something about seeing Jamie foys team come back from being down 9-4 felt like I was watching the final inning of a baseball game, and way different from any other contest. I enjoy it being more black or white as far as “was the trick copied or not” instead of an opinion on what’s hardest. Cant really complain about “unfair scoring”. This is sick, i think this is a really special contest and can appeal to a wide audience, as well as it feeling brand new to the skate audience!

Definitely worth keeping it going! The concept is there. 3 rounds, 3 skaters, 3 attempts, 3 rebates. I think that would be perfect. No stealing points and all that jazz. Not yet anyway. Get it figured out first, have a season, then season 2 bring in any NECESSARY changes.

I’d love the skaters mic’d up so we could hear them strategizing and their trick ideas. 3 rounds for prelim then 5 for the championship. Also there might be an exciting way to randomize the teams… some sort of challenge or lottery so that people are paired up the night of! Then they have to strategize and bond on the fly in the moment. Team names or just do “Blue Team” rather than “Foy’s” team. Love the series overall!! Keep em up.

The evolution of this is going to significantly improve over time… shorter than later, I expect. A wider, more well lit venue would be more sufficient, eventually. Reasonably, the stair sets will change in variety. Commentary was spot on. Ref was fair, no BS. Color & branding on jersey Ts made sense, competitively speaking. I’m sure once this gains more traction, skaters can wear soccer like jerseys with their sponsors on them.. there’s a thought. Different angle replays would be ideal. Appreciate the fact that skaters are filming instead of some corporate media. More teams are gonna spice the events up, obviously. It’s definitely gonna be interesting to watch how well the skaters compete individually & as a team. Kelly (or someone) probably should have been more vocal with timing the skaters between trick sets.. flying down the set before the camera is even on the skater isn’t a big deal necessarily, but if it’s repeated often, that would get annoying real quick for streaming viewers. The rules are pretty simple & self explanatory. If you know skate, & have at least 2 brain cells, this style of game can be easily understood & reproduced globally. That’s probably the best result of this, actually. Team building global skaters & have them all compete. That concept just seems badass to me, idk about yall. All in all, well fckin done! Lots to be proud of with this!! My own personal bias, but I feel like this would be a competition J. Phelps would have endorsed 🫡
