This brought back so many memories of getting the special vehicles as a kid. Story was pretty mid, but if you have special vehicle autism this game was made for you. It had awesome unique cars like the V8 Ghost and Hellenbach GT, tons of rare cars that only show up in 1 or 2 missions, and the most amazing color combos for exclusive color special vehicles. Add in the fact that you can convert cars to heavy and crashproof, and that the garages save more properties(heavy, tip-proof, pop-proof, unique handling etc) it's a fucking dream. Standouts were the heavy Firetruck in that FBI Car mission, Salvatore's heavy black Banshee, and the blue brown Landstalker you can get from a side mission that's basically everything except explosion-proof. I used to use the cheat device on PS2 when I was 8 or 9 too, just to see what other leftover vehicles they had. I remember it having the curvy bus from 3/VC, the VCN Maverick(but chrome for some reason), the Dodo(but it doesn't move), Police Maverick(an unused normal version and not the unsolid one that chases you) and the Hunter before it was discovered.

Although the game itself gails to be outstanding, I respect the hell out of it for how off the rails and goofy certain characters and events are in the story: a cannibal, a sexual deviant pimp/brothel owner, batshit crazy grandmother, crooked journalist, domestic terrorism and the list goes on and on

Also om0 is so broken in LCS that u can manage to unlock debug menus. On PSP u can unlock a mission selector menu that lets u play and go to any mission at any time, and on PS2 u can unlock a car spawner which lets u spawn unused cars like Dodo, the Bus from GTA III, Maverick, Hunter, even the rc vehicles which u can actually drive on ps 2 because they have actual door animations so they dont make the game crash unlike the PSP. Also just a fun fact u can get a "Police maverick" in ur garage in the PSP version of the game using the "Marked virus glitch". I highly recommend watching LethalVaccine's videos as hes a vehicle collector for years at this point

Damn, new finding in LCS. Last time I've seen debug mode it was used to spawn an indestructible hunter in one of the missions.

@shellshockedgerman3947 the debug menu was discovered 2 years ago. The hunter spawning was just a silly little easter egg left by a dev.

@@thegamingboi1959 Cool. When I was still part of the car collecting community, the theory was the Hunter was a left over debug code, not an actual Easter egg.

The most memorable thing about LCS is the old Arabian & South Asian radio station that R* randomly put in the game lmao. I actually played it a lot on the PS2 back in the day. Not my favourite entry but i preferred it over GTA 3.

The most okayest GTA Rockstar ever made. It's the one I grew up with the most on my PSP however, Rise FM and MSX in this game, I'd argue are even better than III. Glad to see you finally play it Josh!

I've played this once as well, but I did mission - side mission - mission early on, so didn't notice that almost every mission involves losing the cops That said, I think the speedrun routes of these missions use bribe stars instead of Pay N Spray

6:25:50 everyone was giving Josh shit for this but he's right. I made the same mistake on my very first playthrough and then another playthrough like a decade later lol. In my I thought that 1) The game would punish you for taking control too early, so you'd need to wait until he got to the meeting and 2) The game would warn you that he was almost at the meeting. It didn't emphasize "Press X NOW!!!"

I always like how insane Donald Love is in this game. It's like quasi-Bateman but more insane in his own way, like blewing up a block full of people or eating his nemesis's corpse. LCS is grim despite it present itself as a dark humor throughout the game sarcastic-filled dialogue

5:41:18 Possibly because it's too much hassle to implement for little gain. You have to somehow model the windshield being broken when you start shooting, you have to have the proper animations. And you will probably need a lot of animations because vehicles have interiors of different dimensions so you will also have to take care of the fact that animations can phase through some cars. There's also the thing that if you allow it in taller vehicles you may have to adjust where the shots come from on the Y axis as opposed to lower cars. Either that or make it irrelevant such that a player in a truck shooting in front of them would hit everything in front of them regardless whether it's below the line of fire. I guess the latter is more or less the case because you can drive-by in trucks though, so not sure what exactly to make of the last point

Got LCS for the PSP when it first came out. It was a very janky game but enjoyable at times. The radio stations were really good. It hasn't aged well I don't think sadly.

My 10 years old self would've loved to have known about the Hunter "easter egg" thing. Also, about the PS5 Pro.. Are you concerned that GTA 6 will not even run at 60fps on that console? RDR2 didn't run 60fps when the PS4 Pro came out, even on regular PS5. Are you fine with just small visual improvements?

Is the Leone family made up of just 2 or 3 guys? There's Toni, Salvatore, and the guy who was ordering Toni around in the beginning... and I don't remember seeing any henchmen or just any other members in general! I watched the first half while kinda falling asleep, but in the later half it always seems to be Toni and Salvatore (a mafia boss!) are the ones doing stuff, and nobody else shows up.

Mickey is the Soldier Vincenzo is the Capo Salvatore is obviously the don Associates are Vincenzo’s Dealer from “Slacker” and JD Toni was an associate since he left the city, then became a Soldier and towards the end of the game a Capo.
