I grew up with these games. I still play the originals from the ps2 era. There’s a lot of Easter eggs and references to the OG Silent Hill 2 in this remake. If you’ve never played the original you won’t get all the references to the original game but someone who’s played it a lot will know exactly what it is.

Something someone noticed about the clock puzzle is every clock you come across before that puzzle or after that puzzle is set to the answer of the clock puzzle. So the game has been telling players the answer to that puzzle the entire game

I love the OG Silent Hill games but I'm overwhelmed by how good this remake is so far. Some reviews said they sticked too close to the original but I actually think they changed just enough to make it feel fresh. And they also added a lot of new stuff. Originally I wasn't even interested in playing this but now I'm actually sad that I don't own a console and my PC won't be able to run this... But I'm glad I can enjoy watching you play this Julia, especially hearing your thoughts as you're experiencing this story for the first time. Thank you for playing this! ^_^

It's actually a reference to the OG silent hill 2. Moths and butterflies symbolises death and the afterlife in Japanese culture. That's why the devs of the original game uses them. We find them also in the Fatal Frame games.

Quick tip for combat against the Mannequin (leg-monster). I found that you can shoot the legs once or twice and once they fall to one knee, finish them with melee hits. They become much easier like this, hope it helps. GREAT playthrough, I was waiting for part 2.

if you shoot them (and every other enemy) in the actual knee they always goes down, the problem is hitting exactly there.

Salut Julia 🙂 Déjà pour te dire que j'ai découvert ta chaîne récemment par hasard avec le let's play SH1 que j'ai apprécié voir intégralement. Moi qui ai fait tout les SH c'est un plaisir de voir quelqu'un les découvrir, et surtout prendre plaisir à les parcourir ☺️ Je fais aussi ce remake actuellement, mais évidemment je suis beaucoup plus loin que toi, pour pas me faire spoil ( même si je fais plusieurs fois SH2 OG ) je trouve pour le moment qu'ils ont vraiment fait un super boulot. Sinon à 00:58::00 avec les 🦋 celui avec la tête de mort est une référence au " silence des agneaux " 👍🏻 Sphinx à tête de mort 💀 Effectivement pour l'interaction ou la caméra se fige avec la petite mélodie c'est des clin d'oeil à SH2 OG comme à dit ton tchat, là où avant était placé une énigme ou un objet. Forcément toi tu auras pas la référence 😁 Et pour ma part en 2001 j'avais 17 ans🤭 Je te souhaite encore un bon voyage à Silent Hill 😋et je regarderai la suite c'est certain. ( Me suis permis d'écrire Français 🇫🇷 car il y la traduction auto 😊 ) Ah oui et super cool que tu sois concentré et vraiment attentif à l'histoire et aux personnages, et peu sur le tchat 👍🏻🙏🏻

Trust me, u weren't the only one stuck on the stupid moth puzzle. I was there for at least 20 min smh... My situation was kinda similar to urs. When I got it, I wanted to break my neck & turn my head around, so I could see how I kick myself lmfao. Ur doin great so far Jules, besides, u know what's great about watchin u play? U truly appreciate these kinds of games, I can see that. Playin a game for the sake of playin it, that just ain't it... It's generally a good remake but I have the impression that it's heavily censored compared to the original. Especially regarding the references to the protagonist's sexual frustration obvious in the scenes involving Pyramid Head and the mannequins. Pyramid Head represents the angry and frustrated part of James.

While I find some lines have more emotion on the original, I think there's some amazing subtle moments in the remake. And the voices have grown on me a fair amount. I think they work for the most part. The OG letter was never going to be topped so I can't fault the remake there
