Love these fish but they grow rather quick but I've kept 3 of these over the years lost two from trying to eat big sailfin pleco and the other my opinion It might be because of the size of the hot tub that you have converted such a volume of water normal its best growing it out ability before chucking in there but its there now try placing a 2" PVC pipe in there for a hiding place and a few sinking plastic plants for cover might ease the stress.... My baby red tail passed away from not eating. Tried blood worms beef heart myosis shrimp flakes everything and he just didnt want it.. i even had baby ghost shrimp and mosquito fosh fry in the tank anx he passed them up too. I have a 7+" inch red tail named ketchup now and hes a beast. And a 5" redtail tiger shovel hybrid whos really cool and a 5" asian redtail as well who loves to troll the surface for flakes

I currently have a juvenile red tail.. since he’s been in the tank I’ve been using regular cut up earthworms. And he tears em up.

@@dominicklisk1842 that's awesome, I ended up losing mine over time 😭 ketchup got sold once he outgrew his pool pond, the asian redtail found his way into my filter pump, and the hybrid just died randomly one day it upset me a lot 😭

i have a 4-5 inch rtc which i bought 2 days ago. i tried to feed him arowana pellets and even live mollies but i dont think hes eating them what should i do?
