Hey MBS, glad to see you are on top of things. When things dry out you'll have to invite friends and family over for a Spring leaf raking party; burgers, hot dogs, and you supply the adult beverages. Buy a few small tarps for your teams of 3-4 people. Rake the leaves into the tarps, drag the tarps to a safe place and dump them where they won't clog any pipes, peat and repeat. In the fall after the leaves really begin to fall heavy, have another Fall leaf raking party; peat and repeat. If you have enough folks come and help, it won't take long at all to clean out all of the ditches and drains. I'll be retiring April 29th, so don't forget to invite me too. I'd be happy to help. Of course, after the work is done, I'll be sipping on my Crown and Ginger and enjoying all of the good fellowship. Job well done. Take care MBS, ASH

I can't let this one go by. You are a good designer. If you take some rebar and make a grate that will fit on the up hill side of the culvert. The small end of the grate should fit on the bottom of the ditch. the other end by the culvert should fit over the top of the culvert. the water will push the debree up up the grate. This will keep the Pipe from getting plugged. I built some for the ditch that comes past my Neighbers to my place. there are six pipes in the ditch.

A picture right out of a mark twain book right there... kids rafting the ohio or headed out for the mississippi creek.... you know the really large creek.... and no shortage of rain there to keep those rivers full. That has to be the best soil in the world with all those leaves in mulch. I really don't know why other than just money to get a good grader to drag the ditch lines and shove some of the leaves off the areas not wanted. Now man behind those scenes, invent something to gather all the leaves off yards and fields, highways even get leaves on them as I went through in the early seventies driving long haul

At least you have the life preservers on the right trees!

I got the same laugh when I saw the life ring hanging on the tree in the middle of the pond.

Not trying to toot y'alls horn or anything 😂, but somebody did some purty good water management planning at camp. Good thing when a good plan comes together

You gotta love living in a woodsy area! Not only a threat of fire burning down your house from a forest fire but a flood too! LOL

I have been driving along the Ohio river west of New Albany lately and the water is definitely overflowing its banks. Full of floating debris too. Hope you don’t lose too much of that driveway!

We will be fine but the roads are all flooded now not for sure if we can get up to camp this weekend lol

Annnd- the road was closed today. Had to take the winding, hilly road to the north while dragging my trailer with a huge log on it. Beats drowning, I guess.

Seriously, someone should invent a stream driven leaf grinder to take care of these leaves as the rain starts. Just a thought - Water is powerful when running. Turns a spindle that tears leaves or grinds them. Hum.
@aaronbummmanbehindthescene49313 жыл бұрын
Now!! I like the way you are thinking and yes water is very powerful

Perhaps better leaf cleanup would be the call of the day...nothing like a good leaf fire in the fall! Hang in there!
