Happy New Year's, Jason, I see that ELS Engine #502 has been repaired, and I see 👀that #502 isn't smoking any more. That is a healthy train. Why is there a tanker car between the Green Boxcars?Ferndale, Michigan is also a No Train Horn Zone. The weather for Saturday, January 1st,New Year's Day. On, New Year's Day, down here in Detroit, had a Dry Green New Year's Day. The temperature 🌡in the Detroit area has been in the 20's. The temperature 🌡was 2 degrees, below zero. This was in the City of Lapeer, Michigan which is just south of Flint, Michigan. The Gas Prices ⛽down here in the Detroit area has been $3.29 a Gallon. Tell, Fred that David from Detroit said HI! Well, at least the train did not get stuck in the snow or have to deal with the ice.

Thanks for the video, Jason. I enjoy watching slow-moving trains. It's also nice to see the houses and downtown buildings in small town Michigan. Beautiful country.

Like that "S" curve at the end as the train wheels out of town. Milwaukee got its first snow (4 to 8) That track near you apparently froze in the upheaval mode because the first two cars were really rocking back and forth. Off to a good start. Keep that LP plant cranking!

Those IBT cars, the Twin Cities & Western had a bunch of them stored on the old Milwaukee Road line north of Montevideo, Mn in the town of Watson. That was back in 2011 or so. The graffiti on the cars was something when you got into Watson and green cars everywhere.

And another year of rail commerce begins! Thanks, Jason, for recording this long first freight of 2022! Btw, now that I know where the wood loads come from, what's all that wood used for? I'm sure you've answered this in the past, but I'm a relatively new sub, so I'm curious like any newbie. Stay safe and keep the videos rollin'! Like Jaw Tooth says, 'There's always more!'

If you don't mind, please keep your arctic weather up there! It was 75F on Saturday, and teens are predicted in the morning! Luckily, we just missed the snow, but had a little sleet this morning. Great video. Lots of green box cars. I have no idea what they have in them, unless they're empty. Then they just have air in them. 😉 I hope you and yours have a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year. I would be tickled to death to have 1000 subscribers by this time next year. Hopefully, when I get a few medical conditions corrected, I can get out and start making more videos (I may try to do it anyway!). Greg in TN 😄 (PS: Did you check your PayPal? 😉)

Good video of the trains working in the snow. Here in Georgia where I live it snowed north and south of me, but we didn't get any snow, just rain. I would like to see just a little of it, but not enough to make the roads messy.
@kleetus922 жыл бұрын
What I always thought was interesting was the different crossing bell ring rates. On that street running section of track, you can hear 4 or 5 of them and the last one is on hyper drive... they should be at 1 strike per second.

I believe it would be best if they reinstate the train horn. Several months back a woman was struck by a train while walking and that city has a no train horn zone. Sadly she didn't survive.
@chrisduprey72832 жыл бұрын
We just had a 22 yr. Old man struck and killed while walking by a CN train in Oshkosh, WI a little over a week ago. No horn there either.
@rd46602 жыл бұрын
You only get hit by a train when you are standing on the tracks. Stay off the tracks and you won’t get run over.
@Kathrynyoder-x2j2 жыл бұрын
@@rd4660 you misunderstood what I said. Just in case you are not aware, there is crossings for foot pedestrians too. The woman was walking through one and I failed to mention she was texting while walking. Like texting and driving , texting and walking doesn't mix well. It always ends in a bad accident or death. Indiana has a law that makes it completely illegal to even be on the phone while driving . That means no texting or talking on the phone . If you must take or make a call or send a text, you must pull over . Driving and walking Distracted ALWAYS ends with severe consequences.
@Kathrynyoder-x2j2 жыл бұрын
@@chrisduprey7283 sounds like he was texting and walking or talking on the phone and walking. Either way he was completely distracted and wasn't aware in his surroundings. That happens alot in Kentucky and Tennessee. The woman I have mentioned lived in Kentucky

Jason, my question is why is there always a tank car attached to the green boxcars?? And why is the check engine light on in your car? LOL
