I love early Broncos! The ones that get driven and offroaded.

About to go pick up a 73 that has a 1984 302 out of a mustang. Should I stick a carbureted engine on it or just repair the motor. I was told it ran when last parked. 😅

1. Disc brakes 2. Suspension 3. Adding an electric fan along with new radiator, and water pump 4. New wiring kit (if yours is a rats nest) 5. Make sure carpet/floor boards are in good shape

That EFI is a hybrid. Correct? Like some of the early 90s Chevys?

Did your fuel economy improve when you change over to the EFI system?
@NashvilleEarlyBronco2 жыл бұрын
It did. Now, obviously it’s still an old 302 motor in an old non-aerodynamic truck, but it did improve.

Front sway bar should be a top priority
@NashvilleEarlyBronco2 жыл бұрын
Depends on your springs. Some springs are pretty stiff and don’t need a sway bar. I like the softer springs

Should I get a my 75 painted? It’s original blue and it’s a little faded.
@NashvilleEarlyBronco2 жыл бұрын
No way! If you paint it you’ll never drive it for fear of dinging the paint

Right on man, yep front disc brakes and suspension for sure! Ha I’m one of those holdouts on EFI, still love my carb, but have the EFI kit sitting on the parts shelf. Going to electronics though I don’t like the idea of, don’t want electronic issues. Thats why I don’t like newer vehicles as much as older ones. I’ve upgraded everything else in my bronco except for the EFI so far though.
@NashvilleEarlyBronco2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there is something cool knowing your Bronco can mostly run without electronics. But it is a pretty sweet upgrade

I did the front disk brake, the 2.5 suspension, 23 gallon tank, and new power steering (old was bad). Bushings look new already. EFI is next but why Edlebrock and not Holley? Any reason? Looking to get the most road speed I can out of a rebuilt .302.
@NashvilleEarlyBronco2 жыл бұрын
Nice!! The Edelbrock ProFlo is port injection and moves the ECU away from the heat of the engine. There are a lot of Holley units, I would look for one that moves the ECU out of the throttle body
