Finally completed the replacement of the firewall on our ‘67 Firebird. Hopefully this video and the previous torque box videos will help you get through a complete replacement if that’s what you need. Thank you for watching.✌️

Thank you. Took a lot of tweaking, but we got it. Looks a lot better and less rusty than the old one. Thank you for your comment and for watching.✌️

Thank you. A lot more work than I was expecting, but I really didn’t know what to expect. I’m liking the results too. Thank you for watching and for the comment.✌️

Oh yea bought a box of those first discs to use on my Firebird.. They strip off the paint and rust pretty good! Keep the videos coming, you're almost at 1000!!!!!

Thanks. I have since bought more, they work really well. May by the end of the year we’ll hit the 1k mark. That would be cool. Thanks for watching.✌️

Great comprehensive vid! I replaced a set of frame mounts, under the torque box, that were cut off to use the front sub frame on an early pickup. I had two other (square) front sub frames removed, and so had plenty of examples to work from. I measured, leveled, and tack welded (in place of screws) until it was within 1/16" of perfectly square. (1/8" being the factory standard on my two examples) Glad to see you take the time to do the same. Makes me feel like it wasn't just wasted time!

Thank you. I really don’t like to redo things when if I just spend a little more time (and measurements), they work out better. Your comment is reassuring to me that what I did wasn’t a waste of time as well. Thank you for watching and the comment.✌️

Way to go brother you are doing an amazing job on that 67 Firebird your build is special to me because it reminds me when I first started doing this on my 67 which was my first Firebird I restored and I know how things can be difficult the first time around but believe me so far what I can see what you have done to this car you will be a master soon believe me

Thank you. This car becomes more special with every part I restore. Once again, if it wasn’t for you guys, we wouldn’t be able to accomplish these things. Thanks for watching. ✌️

IF there are any areas that you are closing up soon I would suggest liberally coaring those areas with rust inhibitor now. Besides that AWESOME Job on the firewall.

Definitely. Once I get the rockers done I’ll start closing things up. Hopefully soon. Thank you for the comment and for watching.✌️

Good job. My only concern is if you are planning on replacing the rocker extensions, the firewall will now be in the way. The extensions are sandwiched between the firewall and the outer cowl boxes. I'm going through the same process with my 71 Acadian which is the panels as a 69 Firebird/Camaro. Keep up the good work buddy.

Thank you. I left the rocker extensions only screwed into the firewall for now. My thoughts are when I remove the rest of the spot welds from the rocker extensions and the cowl, it will give me enough play to open the gap a little and slide the new rocker extensions up and into place. We will see 🤞, so stay tune for that install. Thanks for the comment and for watching and good luck with your project.✌️

Is that a Goodmark or AMD or other firewall? The guys over at aMAYSing Metal Works say to use the Goodmark one but AMD is working on making theirs better now. The problem is the Goodmark one is special order at Summit and estimated to be available August 19th, and cost $520 while the AMD one is available now and cost $280. I won't be home until August ayway so the time isn't an issue, but wondering if it is really worth the money. Love the videos and keep up the awesome work man!

Thank you. It’s a Dynacorn (#1046Q). I bought it about a year ago for around $280. It had a few extra holes (I believe for a Camaro) I had to patch, but no big deal. It was a lot of tweaking to get it to fit right, but I’m now glad it’s all new. Thanks for watching, we really appreciate it.✌️
