I live in Toronto. I'm curious about how you're able to afford the things you do despite a mortgage and moving in expenses. Buying a cheese board for $40, an expensive vacuum cleaner - when many cheaper and good options are available. I love your house. Prepping for guests can always be a lil bit stressful.Just a suggestion for your layout -You can create a sitting area / living area around your fireplace( small sofa ,2 armchairs) turn the current living room space to the dining room and create a family room space with a sectional right off the kitchen. Your tv could be mounted on the wall, so you can hangout in the kitchen ,eat at the island, and entertain on your back patio area.
