Great job with your grocery budget! Love seeing your hauls. We are a couple and we spent $5210 on groceries for the year 2024. We also live in Ontario

It is startling to see the number all together at the end of the year! You did really well and you always make such good homemade meals🙂
@mamatofive113 күн бұрын
The homemade meals help a lot!

Yes! Our Walmart here in Saskatchewan no longer supplies whole grain pasta either and has also cut back a lot of their organic grocery options. Disappointing! We spend similar amounts on groceries per month as well, but this year I plan to keep better track!! Crazy that food expenses now exceeds many mortgage monthly payments! 🤯

I think you did great. We spent$804 a month as a family of four in the USA.

ive never tried the superstore. i think i will. In Ontario too....large family homeschooling family!
@mamatofive113 күн бұрын
Oh good! If you have one close to you, yes try it out! The prices on average are just slightly more than Walmart…like ten cents or less. But when they have the points offers and freebies, it still works out to savings for us. So we go back and forth on Walmart and superstore depending what the sales are 😊

Seeing that number is WILD! Probably what I spend too, but $15,000 that is outrageous!

I am so impressed! My budget always goes haywire because of Costco. My goal this year is to be more intentional and use a calculator when I shop there.
@mamatofive114 күн бұрын
Things can get out of hand at Costco 🤦🏼♀️ We only go every couple of months, so we do a large haul there, but I do my best to stick to my list, and then the other grocery trips that month are quite small, so it balances out.

I don’t budget household and groceries seperate as I get them at the same time. Family of 4 plus 3 pets. Located in southern Indiana. And I try to keep to a $1000 a month budget for groceries and household.

I always buy the same sale items as you haha! Pork tenderloin is a fave here too, I brush with bbq sauce and then bake. For our family of 6 I spent $11,551.15. My budget was $1000 a month. We’re in BC.

I feel you on the "stock up" on tomato products. 😂😂😂. We easily go through 10-15 cans a month. 😂

In 2024, my grocery budget was $650/mth for a family of 3. I was overspent by approx $750 for the entire year. I'm in Canada as well, in MB. I shop at Superstore most of the time. I will buy sale items from Sobey's and Co-op on occasion and Costco maybe every 2 months. For 2025, I've increased the budget to $700/mth. Household items, toiletries, pet supplies and vitamins have always been separate categories for us. I bought the whole wheat pasta, too. But my stock up was an actual stock up... 24 spaghetti, 16 rotini, and 8 penne. I'll be good for quite a while. 😂 Pork tenderloin is next!

That IS a stock up! 😂👏🏻

We live in Idaho. Family of 4 and I spend $700 a month. With that said I have 3 of us still at home and my daughter is in college. Her sorority has a chef 5 days a week so I buy her groceries for the weekends and snacks which is included in my $700. My budget doesn’t include any beef, lamb, or pork as we raise beef and lamb/pork we support a 4H/FFA kiddo and buy their project from the county fair auction.
@mamatofive114 күн бұрын
That sounds like such a neat option, with the county fair auction!

I shop weekly…this haul was a little bigger than some, but it just depends on what I need each week, what is on sale, etc!

Great haul! I think you call the store and complain to get a refund of the bananas. Life happens. The guy could be nicer. We are a family of 5 in CA and spend about 1500 a month.
@mamatofive114 күн бұрын
If it was unusable produce, I absolutely would…we can still use all these in smoothies, so I just let it go!
