First Half Marathon In 4 Years: Can I Still Do It?

Last week a ran my first long distance event in years - Munich SportScheck half marathon! In this video I reflect on how I felt, what well well and what - not so much. Hope you enjoy it:).

I also ran the Sportscheck Munich half-marathon (my first one) and I had three major problems with this run. The first two ones are correlated: the course was almost 22km long and, consequently, the km signs were terribly inaccurate. The 4km sign was already at around 4.5km and the difference kept increasing until some point. I thought my watch was wrong and started pacing my run based on the signs (which helped me set a very good time but could have gone terribly wrong 😂). The third problem was that the course was too narrow. Maybe this is on me for arriving just 10 minutes before the run began and starting at a slower pace zone but I found myself running on the grass of the park many, many times because it was too hard to surpass people inside the normal path (I had to do this all along the way). That said, the atmosphere of the event was fantastic, the T-shirt was very high quality and I had a good time overall.

Can't agree more about the narrow paths! It was also frustrating near the nutrition stations because people were unintentionally blocking almost the whole path.

Well done!! But to be honest, peanut butter and jelly sandwich was my favorite part of this video 😅
