The farm I work for in south central ND grows sunflowers. This year I planted just shy of 1,600 acres of them. Sunflowers can be really profitable in real life depending on the type you grow. We grow oil sunflowers and take them to a crushing plant about a 4 hour drive from the farm and make good money from them. We store ours in bins partially to dry them but also because of the fact that we can’t haul all of them straight from the field or we’d never finish combining lol
