A big group ride should definitely be experienced, but after doing a few of them, I learned that I prefer to ride with no more than 3 other riders, so 4 in total. I am glad it went well for you, and I hope your spouse was able to find what was wrong with his bike... Question: How did you guys get your bike to Hawaï? By boat, I imagine... how long did it take? Ride safely!

Yes I’m glad I was able to experience it! I think a smaller group around 4-6 riders sounds like the perfect amount of people for a group ride. & yes the bike seemed to be fine after we got to our location. & we both bought our bikes here! There was (and probably still is) a low stock of rebels available at the dealership here to the point where there’s even a waiting list for them. & another downside is the price is marked a lot higher here than what you can find in other states. 🤷🏻♀️ I guess if you were to purchase a bike out of state or ship it over it would take a few months & not sure how much that would all cost with the shipping fees

There area lot of comments here about how terrible group rides are. There ARE bad one, this one is a good one. I can only imagine so many people comment how bad group rides are because that's the narrative they tell themselves to feel better about not being out and not being part of. Glad you enjoyed! Looked very fun!!!

This group ride seems to be more coordinated than most but I still think they're dangerous for many reasons, some obvious, some not so obvious. I have no desire to participate in one. At least not one this large. I'm already putting myself at great risk by riding my motorcycle, why would I want to add more risk to the activity? I'm very glad your group was well-behaved and worked well together. We don't want anything happening to you! :)

Yes I agree with you that most group rides especially ones that are big like this can be dangerous. This group is really well-organized and I’m thankful that my first group ride was with such a great group 😊 I’m still figuring out if group riding is for me but I’m glad I had the chance the try it out and everything went safely.

Looks like everybody is well behave, no quads ,dirtbikes , everyone seems to have a plate on , no wheelies , stoppies or stupid stuff . They're still dangerous and you have to be extra aware of your surroundings. You did excellent , ride safe .

Yes I was nervous about other riders doing stunts 😅 I’m glad they made an announcement about it in the safety meeting & no one ended up doing anything crazy. Thanks for the comment 😊

I used to live near Wash DC and every memorial day rolling thunder would ride through on their way into D.C. This brought back memories.

You did great! You maintained a safe space and communicated very well. I hope you had a great time and partake in more group rides in the future. Should have kept that bag as a souveneir of your first group ride!

Good job on the ride. You definitely need a bike with bigger displacement if you’re going on the freeway. We got the slowest speed limit in the nation and that motor sounded like it was gonna blow up at 55mph. Good job at not panicking with trash bag. I once had a couch pillow hit me on Kahekili Highway 😅 and like someone commented earlier… there’s nothing like getting smack in the head by a bird.
@RidewithRea3 ай бұрын
Hahaha yea😅 it sounds rough around 50 mph and kinda shakes a bit. I’m really looking forward to my next bike upgrade (whenever that will be) Omg a couch pillow? lol & yea…I hope I never get to experience hitting a bird 😭

I was going to go but I didn’t feel like dealing with a ton of people. You should try and attend gelato Mondays smaller group and gelato.

Yea it was such a big group! I was not expecting that many riders. The gelato ride sounds fun!

Awesome video and great looking ride. Gotta work myself up to big group rides as my hubby is part of a Riding Club that do these frequently. Maybe not my first year but working up to it for next year!

Nicely done, but I'm going to say it, you need a bigger bike. I once had 10 feet of shrinkwrap come off a tractor trailer I was passing on the freeway, there was no way to avoid it. It came right up over my windshield and wrapped around my neck. I looked like superman with a transparent cape until I could find a safe place to pull off. Oh and wait til a bird hits your helmet. 😉
@RidewithRea3 ай бұрын
Yea 😅 I just have to figure out what bike will be my next upgrade & dang! That’s so scary to have that happen while riding. 😟 I can’t even imagine how I’d react if a bird hit me 😳

Thank you!! Yea I was really anxious but so happy that I did it! & we’re still not 100% sure what happened to his bike but thankfully things seemed okay & he checked on it when we got to our location

If all your worried about is keeping up then you don’t belong. Group rides are mostly a disaster. Some jerk always forgets to gas up. There’s always showboating that put everyone at risk. And breakdowns. Good luck 👍
