Still waiting for official first ice here in southern WI. Every time we had safer conditions another warm front and rain storm would come through destroying our ice. And I don’t mess around on the thin stuff as much anymore, lessons learned the hard way! Nice Pike and good video!

Unreal to me you're fishing in the Minnesota before I am in Maine. Checked 5 of my early spots the last couple days, 2 skimmed 1 open and 2 with 2 inches... Too thin for me. What really sucks is I get super pumped for ice fishing season and I never get good ice once I buy a bunch of stuff it's like when I don't buy anything the ice is awesome when I start buying stuff it's over it's not safe and my life and worth any fish. I live in Michigan which were surrounded by water it's just been so warm and it's tough to travel hours away all the time. Lake Erie is pretty much in my backyard and it's one of the best walleye fisheries in the world.

Yo! Instead of using that clip on the I fish pro you can just wrap your line 4-5 times around the part the clip holds onto. Making the best tip up even better, can use any rod at any time without the annoying clip.
