6.5 Creedmoor is popular for a reason and the benefit is ammo availability. I have 5 different bullet weights at my local Walmarts. Thank you for showing your procedure. I always feel funny doing this at the range because I’ve never seen anyone else ever do it in my life.

Great job. Message to those who criticize this process. Its his gun and he can break in (or not)the barrel any damn way he wants. I'm constantly amazed at how many people like to crap on others. I enjoyed the video and looking to purchase this gun myself.

If that gun came with a 20" 6.5 prc barrel it would be mine too. It's absolute 2A eye candy. My first build with a bore lapped Pacnor custom barrel and Berger VLD bullets I never had any copper fouling. I'll be curious to see how that barrel hold copper. Good luck, beautiful setup.

BSF Barrel Recommended: The following is only a guide to rifle barrel break-in based on our experience, and is not intended as a complete step-by-step instructional tool, nor is it a recommendation for any specific product. Variables including caliber, barrel material, bullet design, velocity, etc. will all affect the break-in necessary - some combinations will require more cleaning cycles and some less. One cleaning procedure is to run a cotton patch wet with solvent through the barrel. Then, wet a bore brush (brass or bronze) with solvent and stroke the barrel 8-10 strokes, followed by another patch wet with solvent. At this point, run a cotton patch with gun oil through the barrel, followed by a dry patch to remove any excess. Initially, you should shoot "5 shots clean and oil bore. 10 shots, clean and oil bore". Then follow up with "20 shots, clean and oil bore". Do this as you are sighting in your firearm. Continue with a normal cleaning routine with normal use. Stainless Steel 5 shots, clean and oil bore 10 shots, clean and oil bore 20 shots, clean and oil

@@richardglaser723 no issues, i just reshot dialing in before I send in for my cds and I shot 3 rounds basically boom…bolt…boom 3 shots in a nickel diameter at 100, I am very impressed with this gun, that’s very tight for a out of box gun with about 2 boxes of bullets through it, mine likes the eld-x, but you def have to test bullets because all barrels are different. The only negative with waypoint is 1. You don’t get the molded mag that the pictures show, only in certain calibers, they don’t make it for the 6.5prc because it’s a .300 win mag/6.5 magazine, the .308 you can get it tho. So with that the metal mag is noisy and 2. The waypoint is not fun for bystanders because of the muzzle break, it’s loud and will blow you hat off if your not behind the glass. Mine is paired with a Leupold vx-5 and this is probably my go-to gun for life.

It takes a little force to pop the rail off.. mine was on pretty snug. If I remember correctly it was locked in a bit with some integrated machining.

I appreciate how you worked so slowly to get it broken in, but I can't help but think you didn't need to waste your time after that group was 1/4 or 1/3rd MOA. But if 6 shots is really all you took to do your "break in" then; well at least you didn't waste a bunch of barrel life doing 50-200 shots like some guys do. How do you like the weight and balance of the 22" 6.5 Creed withbthr fixed stock? I'm very interested in getting the exact same setup. Held a 20" carbon barreled 308 with the adjustable comb and it was so sweet! Wondering if the 22" carbon barrel 6.5 w/out the adjustable comb is nose heavy have had a major surgery on my left elbow that left me with a particularly painful titanium radial head, it's kinda tough to hold a bunch of weight out front. Weight itself doesn't seem to be the issue, just how it balances.
@jamesgardner4126 Жыл бұрын
P.S. I really do want this rifle in 6.5 Creed. Kinda considering the new Redline for its 20" barrel in 6.5. but I like the sling QD cups and the Mlok fore-end. Haven't been able to hold a redline or a carbon barreled 22" 6.5creed waypoint either. Did get a chance to hold a 22" steel barrel non-adjustable with a big heavy scope and it felt pretty nose heavy.
@huntthetop Жыл бұрын
It’s pretty balanced. I added a TB ultra 7 suppressor as well. Even with the large hatch out west bipod attached, it is still pretty dang balanced. I’ve really grown to like this rifle. I originally built it for my wife and kids, but after harvesting 2 bucks with it, it has me sold. Really nice setup IMO
@HammerK9913 күн бұрын
The rifle you are considering balances like a feather (it is extremely well done). I’m sorry about your arm. Hopefully they can scan your arm in different positions (ie, pronated to see if there are clearance issues causing the pain). Model you’re looking for , I believe , is BAW92265CMCF(G or D for color). If the model number has the “A” at the end it is the adjustable stock.

I saw a blog, and 2 guys were having the same problem. One guy had loading problems, too. The bolt was dragging on the top shell in the magazine and was actually damaging the brass and leaving small shavings in the action. I thought I wanted one, but after looking in person, I wasn't in love. The bolt was really sloppy, and the magazine rattled and made a lot of noise. Any issue with the magazine being noisy on yours?

The crown is a big deal as it's the last point of contact between your projectile and barrel, if it's jacked up, then your groups will be also.. But other than that comment, great video, looks like a nice rifle. I've thought about one of these, but for the money you could almost build a custom rifle.

Barrel break in is a waste of bullets. I'm not aware if any modern rifles that this is recommended for.
@brandonperschon4493 ай бұрын
You would shoot the same bullets if you weren't breaking it in. It's still fun to shoot. The reason for shooting the bullet doesn't really matter. It's all fun. Do it as part of getting on paper and sighting it in. I just don't see any lead flying down range as a waste if you're having fun I guess.

I have that exact Rifle I clean the barrel as it came from the factory and after that I develop a load for it it’s a legitimate .4 inches Gun at 100 yards and it hammers all the way to 1200 yards I shoot long range matches, and I stopped breaking in Barrels years ago. It’s a waste of time makes no difference manufactures give you instructions how to do it because the consumer expects that quality barrels are made that way in the manufacture process.

I agree. I’m not necessarily an advocate for barrel break ins, hence the question mark. It doesn’t hurt but many times is unnecessary

Lol break in for a $700 barrel? Just shoot the thing. Mine out if the box with oil only cleaned out and 40 rounds put through it with no cleaning .5 in group at 100. Waste of time. If it was a cheaper barrel where the tooling wouldn't be as sharp I may do some break in but not these high end barrels. What's the first thing people do when they shoot before they shoot in matches....put fouling rounds through it.
