Hahahah! It's a myth! Coffee beans do not solve the olfactory problem, in fact it makes it worse. It's alcohol blast that desensitises your nose, If you spray the perfume a little away from your nose and give it few seconds before putting your nose to your hand, you will have no problem even if you are smelling a thousand perfumes.

Yeah. Nasomatto Pardon is my absolute favorite dress up/formal frags that I own (close to 400). Hands down the most complimented when I wear it, which is far and few between.

I had the same reaction to By The Fireplace. I was like this is horrible, how does everyone talk about how great it is. I smelled my arm like an hour later and could not stop. The dry down is amazing.

​@@dervon9526 It does initially smell very smoky like burning woods with the sweetness of cloves. I can imagine people smelling that for the first time to be put off by it. The drydown is basically roasted marshmellows and chestnuts, smells better and lasts forever on clothes over skin. It's more for the cozy gourmand girlies.

Baraonda is my favourite from Nasomatto, by a healthy margin - it's pretty much *the* boozy fragrance. Pardon didn't do too much for me the first time I got it, but it has grown on me every time I've worn it. Like you, By the Fireplace turned me off on the initial spray, but I gave it more chances and I'm now quite fond of it. I really enjoy Straight to Heaven, but I find it very light and fleeting, so perhaps I should try out the Extreme version! Thanks for the insight!

Funny thing is, we have the safe reaction when i smelled by the fireplace. BUT when the dry down came, i cannot forget the smell til the next day that i even bought a full botlle righaway. And not to mention i am not into woody perfumes but this one hits different.

Pardon is one of my favorite. I also have Duro which I love as well. Duro is very masculine but I am sure you will like if you like Pardon. My favorite Killian's are Black Phantom, which I own and Straight to Heaven which I will purchase soon. Do you recommend the Straight to Heaven regular or extreme. As always, you are amazing. Funny, beautiful, sweet, wonderfully fragrant; the whole package. Puszi puszi.

The fireplace is defo one you need to wear on skin, then spray again about 15mins later, it breaks down to a sweet marshmellow kind of vibe, love it, actually think your skin chemestry has to be right with that, as smells totally different on my partner when she tried it, lol

Pardon smells very similar to the original discontinued LIDGE which is why its so good, you can get L'instant De Guerlain Pour Homme EDP which is the reformulation of LIDGE which is way cheaper than Pardon and getting super popular dare I say it its having a renaissance.

True, Nasamatto didn't released the official notes. His words: “I start making something but at a certain point it starts making choices by itself. It is the process that interest and guide me. I like the feeling that I’m losing control and I’m not the one making the choices. My involvement is to create something that is alive that will be able to say new things. *Straight To Heaven Extreme* is one of my all time favorites. Absolutely amazing boozy, woody fragrance. Definitely sexy as you described. I have a 50 ml bottle and I'm working on a 250 ml bottle ($1100 😬, that's how much I love it 😁). *By The Fire Place* is ok, but seems better suited as a holiday candle. Just my opinion. I've tried *Sacred Wood* before, but wasn't blown away by it. I'll probably never try it again because it's discontinued. I hate chasing discontinued fragrances. You have me really interested in *Pardon* and *Atkinsons Mint & Tonic.* Great video and first impressions 👍

Pretty sure the notes for Pardon were never made official. Your guess is as good as mine, but on my skin it's mostly patchouli, especially in the base. Velvet by Commodity was my answer to By the Fireplace. Layers better.

If you want to try the same dna of by the fireplace but more refined and well balanced you should check out oud superfluid by les eaux primordiales 👑 my sotd as it happens. Its a mixture of deep rich smokey oud and creamy guiac wood , the blending of both woods is nothing short of bewitching, then add in a dark sweet creamy slightly boozy vanilla and rich resinous benzoin.

An interesting comparison of some very different fragrances. Nasomatto have been getting heaps of praise here on KZbin. I really need to give this company's perfumes a good run out. Atkinsons is a bit of a left field sample. They are a very old London-based perfume house similar to Penhaligons or Floris but seem to be largely overlooked online. That's curious as many of their fragrances appear to be well regarded by customer reviews. I would probably get into them except that I have quite a large collection of fragrances from the other two houses and don't want to become too typecast on classic English perfumery.

How does Straight to Heaven Extreme compare to Taziana Terenzi Ursa.Some say Ursa is similar but performs better than STHE.

I wear Nasomatto Pardon as My workscent tonight 😃 Just a little spray and it has so good performance...You just dont have to go 15 sprays with Nasomatto 😃 I think there is some notes in Pardon and Black Afgano that are the same. I can feel the same DNA but Pardon is more easy to wear .

Nasamotto does not release what notes they have in there fragrances so not sure where you got the notes in Pardon. Im guessing thats someones thaught of what notes are in there
