LOL loved this first impression review, highly entertaining which is incredibly commendable given the actual deck leaves... a lot to be desired. Looking forward to elbow-less and knobbly-knee-free decks in the future! (Who needs them? Too many wrinkles!)

I appreciate the art but overall it feels super...biblical. The first few cards felt like a tour of the major players of the Bible. Thanks for fleshing this out for us. So many quotables from this review: "if you are offended by nipples, this is the deck for you" LOL!

the numbers might represent the path on the qabbalist world tree they correspontd to and the arrows probably are whether they are active or receptive cards

Are you advocating a van Gogh tarot with no ears? I'm in. You are so funny, and this is a deck I could definitely give a miss. Thanks for your thoughts!

I got this deck for the holidays. You aren’t wrong... young thin white. I wanted it be of its grey tones. The book doesn’t offer much in really describing the esoteric symbolism, imo. I like digital art, so I don’t mind it here, but it’s frustrating the lack of diversity. And I never like the wheel of fortune card either. The color tone is what I hoped, but all your criticisms are valid. I also received The Uncommon Tarot for the holidays and like it much better. It’s collaged art, but still seems painterly and there’s a little more diversity in age, cultures represented and the lovers card is two males, so offers more for me. Will probably use it more than Heaven and Earth.

Great review, very entertaining. I never realized how disturbing ears are! Honestly, the art style creeps me out. It reminds me of religious illustrations from my youth. (They weren't big on nipples back then, either...)

I just really don't see the point of this deck. So many thin, white, pretty RWS based decks already exists. Hundreds of them. I don't see what this adds to the tarot world (other than the esoteric titles, which, eh). Also, totally with you on the nipple situation. "Ew David" indeed! Thank you for bringing some much needed laughter to my day.

I was like "oh wow i love the art i really wan-" then saw more of it and was like "yeahhh That was some good art but...this isn't for me" Great video! I like hearing your opinions on things.

So glad I watched this before purchasing a nipple free deck! Maybe they should skip eyebrows next time. I've know people that weren't into eyebrows.

Also, finger nails. No finger nails. Because those are confusing too. I think? I don't know now!! I'm questioning everything 😳 maybe just the nails on toes...😏

Ewww David! I enjoy your take on a deck like this, also I find it interesting that deck creators are now doing this 'union' of RWS and Thoth or RWS and Marseille. All three systems of symbolism are perfectly fine in their own right and anyone can buy these decks or guides to them cheaply and study them and then decide which they will use. I wonder why the market exists for a deck that has it all. I feel like Crowley would be disgustingly vocal about pro nipple decks! The art here is very Christian bookshop greetings card section.

Some of the imagery is beautiful but I agree it is very whitewashed skinny people with apparently no nipples. I love my Darkness of Light so will pass on this one. Thanks for your always candid honest impressions x

I think this is a great deck although I have some cons with the deck I don't like the key words on the cards itself and while I believe any beginner should get a deck that calls out to you but I would never recommend this deck to a complete beginner in tarot but I love the art, the companion book is pretty I love the back of the cards I like that they are glossy I might get this deck for the insane art of it.

Loved your review! I have very similar thoughts and feelings about this deck. When I initially saw the previews of it it looked intriguing, but when I saw the finished product I felt very meh. The skinny whiteness of it is both predictable and disappointing, but the blurry faces legitimately freaked me out. Some of the figures look like characters in a horror film, with those ghostly faces. Add in Barbified chests, and it's just all too much for me.The whole deck is just so, so grey; if only they upped the color saturation a bit. Hate the key words with a passion; I can live with a keyword deck (case in point - Brady Tarot, which is a phenomenal deck) - but these are repetitive and don't resonate with me. I know that the deck made quite a splash when it first came out, and people were fawning over the art and the correspondences, but as I'm not a reader who worships at the altar of Golden Dawn esotericism, it was utterly lost on me.

Gosh this deck is on one level so gorgeous and it's been hovering around my wish list... but thanks for this walkthough. It's got to be a no. It's too thin white people as you say. And the no nipples! LMAO! I hate the keywords. If I had this deck I'd have to cover them... like the nipples.

You win your wager. I skipped this deck. It's....very greyish. Jack Sephiroth is a hell of an alias. I don't think his parents were called Mr and Mrs Sephiroth. Please stop saying 'nipples', when you say nipples that often it sounds disturbing (nipples are not disturbing, repetition of the word is disturbing.)
@kristaodegaard32263 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the word nipples or the thought of nipples upon hearing the word nipples is disturbing?
