Great video! I was in Jakarta from September to November this year and I was shocked on how modern it has become now. I went to Bali and Tanjung Pinang too. Tanjung Pinang seafood is cheaper than Bali and it is a quiet Island compared to Bali.

I think you got it spot on describing martabak as crumpet. That is the closest thing in England that can describe what a martabak manis is, a huge crumpet.

In the city Jogja, you can find unique way of drinking good coffee. Named kopi tubruk, served without sugar. If you ask for sugar, you will get palm sugar (Indonesian gula aren). Bit that sugars a little piece and drink coffee while sugar melt in your mouth.

If you like oldies things, you should stop by at Surabaya. There's a lot old stories here, including the oldest ice cream parlor (and you should order Macedonia ice cream). We also have submarine museum, the biggest market in South East Asia (Pasar Atom), the biggest mall in South East Asia (Pakuwon Mall), etc. And at night you can go to old town at northern Surabaya.

Not the best in low light like the iPhone is and not the best zoom / creating cinematic shots but we've really enjoyed it!
