Today I explored the city of Kochi for the first time ever! It was a super interesting place which kind of reminded me of Sri Lanka with the laid back attitude and nice beaches. I went on a tuk tuk tour to all the best spots including the hindu temple, jew town and a ginger farm. Met some really interesting characters and had a great day.

If you want to visit a temple then you can, some of the temples allow only Hindus because in the past there were infinite islamic invasions on India to loot and destroy temples, millions of small and big temples were destroyed so some temple management feel insecure now also. Now a days also many temples are destroyed by radicalised people.

Kerala is land of spices. VASCO DA GAMA the first European who discovered sea route to India. He landed on Calicut (in Kerala) for trading spices. After Portuguese, the Dutch , the British discovered route to India. Europeans consume lot of meat but they had no spices to preserve meat for long time . They need indian spices to preserve meat for long time. And thus how they ruled & traded in ancient days. That’s the short history…

@@godworld6370 😂😂😂 Kerala the newer generation can manage with basic hindi plus the local stalls these days have a large Bangladeshi, Nepali guys and Biharis or UP guys so communication in Hindi shouldn't be that difficult. I remember going to my hometown pharmacy and asking for a tablet in Malayalam and when he responded back with the little Malayalam he knew I was like this is odd, his Malayalam sounded gibberish and finally communicated in Hindi. Yeah in Kerala we can get lost in translation a lot the more local and interior side we go. But English is a better option.

The Kerala model of development refers to the economic practices adopted by the Indian state of Kerala. It is characterised by results showing strong social indicators when compared to the rest of the country such as high literacy and life expectancy rates, highly improved access to healthcare, and low infant mortality and birth rates. Despite having a lower per capita income, the state is sometimes compared, to developed countries. These achievements along with the factors responsible for such achievements have been considered characteristic results of the Kerala model.Academic literature discusses the primary factors underlying the success of the Kerala model as its decentralization efforts, the political mobilization of the poor, and the active involvement of civil society organizations in the planning and implementation of development policies.

She is winnowing the waste outer cover of the pepper off before it goes for grinding. It’s a very traditional tool and is used to winnow all sorts of grain and spices to get rid of husks. Typically it is women’s work, and is also done in household settings too. Masala is a spice mix, not necessarily a curry mix. In Sri Lanka you went to Matara which is a cinnamon flowing area! Kerala is very like Sri Lanka in some ways as it has a similar colonial history. You are seeing as you did in SL that people can live together quite peacefully even though they have different religions and cultures. Multicultural societies that work do exist in many different places!

There is nothing discriminatory like that❕ Some old caste problem exists But it's not supported by the state/nation and reform is happening at a fast pace ( and it is and it should be dealt with strictly). And some conservativeness is still there like in very few temples( only 8 ), foreigners or non-Hindus are not allowed in some important parts of the temple because of the history of extremism and destruction people faced(still happens sometimes, and many cases of ancient statues of Deity getting stolen). You can see many vlogs of foreigners going to the temple. So it's not like what some ignorant fools are telling you. And about the Sabarimala temple, it's the temple of Shani Grah ( Saturn ) where some occult practices are done, so, it was prescribed for women and children to not go there but with time to some extent, it became a conservative rule. Like in Temples, especially which is located on a hill or a distant place, menstruating women didn't go because of the wilderness and animals and because of the extra care that they need that period but with time and forgotten knowledge, all this became a conservative rule. You can also find many foreigners in the biggest Hindu gathering( even the biggest in the world), The Maha Kumbh Mela, which happens with every complete cycle of Jupiter (12 years).

Hey Harry glad to see a different video from the usual Salon haircut, local barber, Malls, Amusement Parks and Horse ride scams. The recurring themes from Luke Damant, Dale , Mac, you and Ali. I don't want to come off negative but it was getting a bit monotonous. •Kochi had a Jewish community settled there from King Solomon's time due to trade and later a larger families came in during Jewish persecution etc. Once Israel came into existence in 1948 most of them have moved back to their homeland. •Also Christianity came to Kerala due to this settlement, it's believed that St Thomas the disciple of Jesus came to India around 54 AD to spread the gospel to the Jewish population here and along with it some locals were also converted. • The difference between the nazi Swastika and this Indian swastika is right facing and it's used to show sun, prosperity and good luck. The symbol has been used in Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. I am not an expert on it so not delving into it much. •The last temple you visited is not a Buddhist temple it's actually a Jain temple. Hoping to see more videos like this that talks about cultural aspects, food and local people. That's kinda my liking it may vary for others. Take care.

Just to add to your statement 'Kerala doesn't feel like 🇮🇳' Well if you ask me Kerala is one dimension of India which is totally unique and different from rest of the country. Same in the case of Goa or the coastal areas of Karnataka (from Karwar bordering Goa to Mangalore bordering Kerala) where Bangalore is located. It will remind you more of SRI LANKA

In india temples are not built for religious purposes, they were highly energized tools build for human wellness. Temples are found deliberately at a place where the positive energy is available abundantly from the magnetic and electric wave conveyances of north/south post push. The idol of deity is set in the core center of the temple, known as Grabhagriha. Ideally, the structure of the temple is built after the idol has been placed in a high positive wave centric place. In olden days, temples were built in such a way that the floor at the center of the temple were good conductors of these positive vibrations allowing them to pass through our feet to the body. Hence it is necessary to walk barefooted while you enter the center of the temple. The Five senses of the body get activated when you are inside the temple if the positive energy inside the temple is absorbed properly that is only if you ensure that all the five senses ie sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell are activated in your body while in the temple. The entire art of building temples is not just a mere art; it is a science. Every single facet of it - from the size of the idol to the directions and the sanctum- yes! Temple architecture is a highly developed science. If you look into the ancient past of India and its temples it reveals the fundamental science and purpose behind temple building. Far from being a place of prayer or worship, temples were created as powerful spaces where an individual could imbibe the enshrined energies. Most temples were created to address a particular aspect of life and were thus consecrated to activate one or two particular chakras, the main energy centers within the human system. it is also said that spiritual persons do not need to visit the temples as they have self charging mechanism. unfortunately in most part of India in ancient temples have been destroyed by invaders and the temple building science has been mostly lost because of nearly 1000 years of foreign rule. but if you go to an ancient Temple at least 900 years old in South India and sit near Grabhagriha you will feel the the positive energy.
