Wow! Ash & Kels, you too are amazing to literally walk and explore BGC, Makati and the old spanish-era capital Intramuros. You both captured the contrast between the old city and the new glassy posh place of BGC/Makati I hope you really did enjoyed your city tour 😊 May I suggest (only if you like it,) when you visit the Mall of Asia and the Bay City on your next day, try to find time to visit the Okada Manila and the Solaire, and if still can make it the City of Dreams as well. These are all integrated casinos. Please don’t get me wrong - am not asking you to gamble there hehehe but only to visit it as a tourist. There’s a fountain show as well in Okada sometime around at 7pm onwards (if am not mistaken) - it’s for free. Goodluck to your another wonderful day in the city 😊

been to Manila twice, Malate once, Santa Rosa once, Olongapo 5 times. My father calls it " A third world country " he's never been there. When I hear him call it a third world country, in my mind I say " Dad, if you only knew " Last time I went, I took a lot of pictures, and showed him the pictures. I am engaged to a Filipina from Butuan, Anini-y, Antique on Panay island. A little country town. The people there are not as poor as decades ago. The Filipino's are resilient people. The Philippines is one place in the world where you can go and be greeted and waved to with smiles and verbal greetings. Walk down the street and constantly be told " Good morning " but it's not just that, the smiles !!! I love The Philippines ! Magadang buhay !

Thank you for the kind comments about PH. Our country is still developing and has been growing as one of the fastest GDP growths in so many years from 2000s to 2019. It's still a long way to go. Infrastructure has been developing so fast. Train lines are being built and MRT 7 is now under construction. The first full subway line has started it's construction. It will have stations in Makati, BGC, airport and the northern part of Metro Manila. It's a 53 kilometer long subway.

If you plan on staying for few months, renting a home base in BGC would actually save you more money than hotel/airbnb hopping. Hi Ash & Ken, thanks for visiting Manila, my home city. Glad you're enjoying your time there. Just to answer your question about the sand in Manila Bay, there's been an ongoing work to put dolomite sand in the area to give it that white sand beach feel. Both the national and local government have been working together to rehabilitate the Bay which began pehaps 2 years or so ago. It used to be full of rubbish on the water, leaving a bad smell in the area. Now, it's looking heaps better and more presentable to the public. It's also great to see many people now enjoy coming to the place and hang out to watch the stunning sunset or come for walks with their pets etc. I'm a new subscriber watching you from down-under NZ.

That giant flagpole in Rizal Park in front of the Jose Rizal Monument (the national hero) is the Kilometer Zero point from which all road distances (in kilometers) in the Philippines are measured.

@@AshandKels he's not officially the national hero, but many consider him to be. Andres Bonifacio is the other contender for national hero but Rizal gets more attention because the Americans. Rizal represented peaceful political advocacy while Bonifacio spearheaded the revolution against Spain by force. The Americans didn't want the Filipinos getting any ideas during their rule, so Rizal was heavily favored Just some fun facts 👍

Awesome finally u went to BGC!!! Love it guys! Cheers! Though what u had visited is just the partial middle part of the BGC, if you go further there are a lot more to see like districts of BGC like the Uptown BGC Area, Forbestown area beside Burgos Circle. Hope you could explore more. More business districts of Metro Manila please... cant wait. Next to BGC a little bit further to the south is the Italian District the other Big township - Mc Kinley Hill, give it a try and have a Gondola ride at Venice Grand Canal Mall. Or go further after the Uptown BGC area just across the new bridge and explore the other business district - Ortigas Center and Greenfield District. Thank u. :)

When you really understand Philippines its like in the "Lion King" when Simba discovers where timone and pumba living theire lifestyle and others thats when you know you are in the Place where you don't need luxury in life but not promising a life without complications you know complications in life is also a spice in life but you can always choose to be positive, chill and relax about it and think that you are very fortunate that you have what you have and be greatful for it..

I was actually subscribed to your channel from my second account and now subscribing to you from my first account. Anyways, your effort of going to those different places are commendable. Going from BGC to makati, intramuros and Rizal Park (Luneta Park) can be so tiring. Just a little info. Makati was the first business district of the country. BGC was only founded in 1995. And yes it's quite expensive to live in BGC . Since you are already in BGC, I wished you have visited the Mckinley area where you can see the Venice Grand Canal Mall. definitely The American influence are quite obvious because we are once an America's ally. American influence are more obvious in the Northern part of the country to be specific in Subic bay and the central region Baguio City. Considerably, The Philippines is the melting pot of culture in Asia. Yes, not to brag but the main export of this country is the people so expect more of Hi's and Hellos and hands waving in you vlogs. haahaha

Actually the distances here is not a problem. Everything seems so far bcs it take long time to go anywhere due to traffic. From where I live to work its 3km and it takes 30 min by car.. but with my electric scooter (skateboard with motor) it takes 8 min. From bgc to intramous its like 6km or so.. not a long way to walk.. a little hustle only.

I know, right? Made the same observation hahaha. I mean I wouldn't mind walking if it wasn't for the humidity so I doubt I'd do what they did unless out of necessity.

Hello again, Ash and Kels! Forgot to post this a while ago. You might want to carry a folding umbrella with you for the next few days, just in case. Tropical Storm Agaton just made landfall in the island of Samar in the middle of the country. While its ways away from Manila yet, it will be pulling clouds and moisture as it goes along. Be prepared for rains and thunderstorms
@AshandKels2 жыл бұрын
We arrived in Cebu today and the storm has definitely hit! We managed to buy an umbrella and explored a little bit we had to go back to the hotel as the weather was getting worse! We had a red weather warning message sent to our phones 😳 thanks for letting us know, hope it doesn’t hit Manila too hard!
@michaelevidente63002 жыл бұрын
@@AshandKels damn! Cebu is a nice place to be. There are Typhoon Signal warnings. Thats what you should look out for. Currently, there isn't any for Cebu City, so all you need to worry are rains. The signal warnings are based on wind speed. The higher the deadlier. Agaton is packing about Signals 1 and 2 with peak winds at 105km/hr, or roughly 65mph. For most Pinoys, who go thru typhoons 15-20 times a year, its just a nuissance. We get worried when signals for our areas go into 3, 4, or 5.

@@AshandKels Manila is dry but not as sunny. Take care while you're in Cebu. The storm is not that strong...
