NY back in the 70’s and 80’s was very different than today. I grew up in an Italian Brooklyn neighborhood back in the 80’s. Can’t believe it was 40 years ago.

You passed right by Bryant Park on 40 to 42nd Street when you were on 6th Ave. A beautiful 10 acre park in the middle of the city. Down the street from Times Square.

It’s not infested. There are rats but not as bad as people outside of the city make it seem. Chicago and LA have more rat sightings than nyc

As a New Yorker I can say Manhattan is completely overrated.. Expensive, dirty, infested with rats, smells , 0 parking… DC and Philly have nicer downtown parts that make you feel like you’re in the city but muchh cleaner
