Granada is a very pretty city! You guys are a lot braver than I am, spending the night in the jungle! Hahahaha. The tarantula's were probably the creepiest. Although that really fast spider in the cabin was a highlight as well. Very close encounters though :D

Family visited Nica through break. Clean, people look after their country. The food is great and very well priced. The beaches along the coast are very beautiful, with very little people. Our border crossing wasn't as long as we walked through. Rented a vehicle, which is a must.

I was born in Nicaragua. I believe you guys were there for the celebration of The Virgin Merry. All the Homes and Churches decorate alters in her Honor. It's almost like a Religous Halloween. Because people go from home to home and treats are served. ❤❤❤ Video!

Depends on what you're looking for. Costa Rica has a bit more modern amenities and is probably a bit more stable. Nicaragua is waaaayyy cheaper though.

Your little visitor was a tailless whip scorpion...not a spider, not a scorpion. I have one as a pet. It eats crickets. They don't bite or sting. Glad you didn't kill it!

Would you please be so kind to share your thoughts on safety in Nicaragua? We’ve travelled to several other south and Central American countries and didn’t worry to much , but I am reading some articles that make me slightly concerned.

We felt very safe there. People were very kind and very welcoming to us in general. Didn't feel unsafe for a moment. We spend a month there Of course, like any other Central American country you need to keep your wits about you. I've read that the crime rate is actually pretty low in Nicaragua.

I love Granada, It's very historic and definitely charming, but I think I will give the title of Central America's most beautiful city to Antigua, Guatemala. Having said that, if I were given the option where to live, I would choose Granada.

We crossed at the land border. They asked how many cameras we had and counted them. I think you are allowed two per person. They didn't give us a hard time about it really. They did about our drone controller (we had shipped our drone to the next country).
