$10 for holding a camera? Refuse next time. Simple NO and they will leave you alone. It's illegal for him to ask you anything. Once you leave the airport there is no more fees. Don't leave without going to Laas Geel 9000 year old cave paintings.

I’d rather pay $10 than go to jail. Like EVERYWHERE in the world, the police and law do what they want with very little accountability or oversight. In Slovenia, they have a ‘racket’ with vignette highway road passes. They get all the tourists because they don’t make it very known that’s it’s needed, where to get it or anything. Total tourist trap. I had two choices: pay €800 or go to jail. I bargained down to €300 as I didn’t want to see the inside of a Slovenian jail. If the police are not directly corrupted, the entire system of paying frivolous fines (and the judges) is absolutely absurd. Where’s the victim in the crime?

I am from somaliland but living in the west..next time if a police man asks you for money for recording in public just laugh in his face and say NO..if they dont leave you alone ask him to take you to the police station and the watch him run away..they took a chance with you beacuse your a tourist
