ok so Rush duels IRL actually did launch with playable trap cards. including a mirror force for spellcasters and a Sacuretsu armor for dragons for example. The issue is they didnt include ANY good traps and only like 3 good spells. give it another main box and the game should be a lot better. lets not forget how unga bunga duel links was on release

Duel links is also missing things that get introduced later on, people are hating already because they think this is it, but this is like the beta phase of Rush Duels, current phase of the physical card game is so much better than this. Sadly people seem to don't have patience nowadays to wait and to judge only after we get closer to the current poll

This is pretty bare bones stuff right now, but once they are able to get more of the cards out there, we will begin to see different combos/strategies being played. I've had fun so far and I am open to see what competitive play evolves into as this goes on.

​@@chriswright8074 I doubt they will bring in XYZ. Only special summons in the Rush are Fusion, and it's own exclusive Maximum Summon Whole point of Rush Duels is to make game better-paced and less bloated compared to Duel Monsters after all

I have learned 2 things from reading the comments. 1st thing, people dont actually like to play ygo and just want a party game but ygo. 2nd thing, if I can do whatever and things work out its fun, of I do whatever and get punished game ass. i play alot of card games, from Yugioh with different format, shadowverse, Vanguard and VG zero, and even Marvel snap. that's why i dont discriminate the simplicity of Rush duel. in fact i appreciate they made a game where players can build/setup their field without getting interrupted every move. Modern meta always play around not letting your opponent play that's why Archetypes that supports each other cannot thrive in modern ygo. i can see Heros and other fun archetypes thriving on Rush Duel

@@HoangNguyen-ej4wb Look at e-hero. they have many cards that support each other but cannot thrive because meta decks will negate, interrupt and will not let E-Hero do anything. if you want to win in modern yugioh you need to think more on how to mess your opponents play than setting up your own plays. i just think that in rush duel with unlimited normal summons and always draw until 5 in hand will let players setup their plays without getting locked out every turn.

There is a second more or less good trap in the game. The psychic exclusive trap that gives you 500 atk boost when an opponents monster attacks ... it's of course garbage compared to regular yugioh und duel links, but at least it does something. That draw card from the structure really does nothing other than help to achieve these "activate trap card" missions.

Yeah you can, as long as you reached stage 10 in normal yugioh, which isn’t hard. And it’s probably better to keep the same account if you have any leftover gems since you last played to get the new cards

I think it's refreshing not having to play against decks that are carried by an OP skill (yes I'm looking at you Raging Pendulum). Even if it's beatdown vs beatdown, at least it's starting to look like a back-and-forth duel. Even a simple game against the Vagabond that nearly whooped me was fun.

It'll get better and more fun once Duel Links catches up with all of that. Yes, now is the perfect time to come back to Duel Links! You get 4-5K gems on new accounts, & a ton of tickets. If you have a favorite Yu-Gi-Oh anime or deck, you can probably play it & get King of Games! Rush Duel is also fun for people wanting simple, old school style Yu-Gi-Oh, but the card pool is still kinda small. But they are improving it set by set. Come back ASAP while you can still collect the Anniversary rewards for 2023!

for now it's the starting phase so it's mostly attack, stop attack, back and forth however once we get things like Equip Cards, Maximum Summoning and Fusions the game will start having more strategy than it currently has, we're even missing the trap cards currently . Might take awhile for that tho Maximum Summoning was introduced in the first bad guy battle, and Fusions was introduced way later on, and Equip Spells were introduced even later. So might take awhile to catch up with the actual TCG card pool but once it does, it'll get more interesting
