I am thrilled that they gave the Liberty City "Moonlight "movie an Oscar Academy Award . I taught there my last year in Miami. This journey almost completely destroyed my life and has caused many unhappy moments. The riots killed young people at that time in 1980. I was moved to that city to teach in 1979 , because of my color . I was terrified with no training. There were outside folks that stole our purses , & hit us in our stomach when we were pregnant. I had to endure enormous scorpions that I tried to kill with my broom. The kids laughed at me . Another teacher came in to say to duck down , since they were shooting it out across the street. They hired a 4 ft. 11 inch lady protector . I asked, if she knew karate. She didn't . We worked in a real danger zone completely. NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE DEEP SOUTH . My first day , I was so nervous , that I left my keys in the car running and had to have the janitor help me. The last year, I had 6 stitches in my leg from one student throwing a chair across the room at another child. I spent my lunch in my room locked up scared to death. I only had one white student one day when the maid brought her in for one day for babysitting. Was expecting our second child and my husband put our house up for sale and we moved north to a new home with his parents. After 40 years, I read in our local Journal that someone was complaining that Orchard Villa was still 97 % Black. This was the CAUSE of the EXODUS OF MIAMI . Now, Miami is taken over by the Cubans, Haitians, and South Americans and many other wealthy folks that weren't the founders. My grandfather came down in a sailing boat in the 1917[s. THANK YOU, Beloved President Johnson, who was also responsible for increasing the horrible Viet Nam War. Our famous Football hero from my Miami High Class, who was the Nation's Quarterback star , lost both legs and an arm from that horrible war . President Johnson you definitely changed my life and my friend's lives forever. My grandfather grew all the palm trees on the bay front and even built the Famous Rock Garden in Miami in the early 1920s'. We must find a compromise to heal our nation. Please let us get our groups to gather to mend us all . Trump is not the mean one , he is a healer in disguise with a rough demeanor. He wants to bring America back with jobs. He is a dreamer that makes dreams come true. I believe, that he will be good for The ENTIRE NATION ! BELIEVE!!!
