Holy cow. I used to collect some marvel cards in the 90's, and they were at dollar stores for a couple bucks a pack. I briefly collected Yugioh cards in the early 2000's and they were dirt cheap as well. I thought I may get back into it as a cheap alternative to action figures. Nope. Blaster boxes are like 20-35 for 3-6 packs, and hobby boxes are 200-300 for 12 packs. If you could find single packs anywhere, I bet they be $10 for a single pack. You probably opened like $2500 worth of cards here. Thats nuts. Guess Im not collecting cards.

In case you didn’t know, if you were to buy a pack of cards from the 90’s today there’s a good chance they would be stuck together. Found that out with 2 packs of 94 X-Men off of eBay.

At my local comic con there is a booth with older marvel flair packs cards. $8 to $20 depending on the year. '93, '94, '95. Should I buy them out. Or, what year should I buy more of. I bought some packs in the past but didn't get any good inserts.

Where can people buy boxes of cards for retail? Everywhere I look it's 3rd party dealers and they're soooooo expensive

Sadly hobby boxes like you are seeing open now does not have a “retail” release. The only retail release is blaster boxes at Target and Walmart, etc… blaster boxes do not have the same box odds and most of the chase cards are only in the more expensive hobby boxes. Therefore a select few dealers control the supply and demand and pricing and they increase those prices and leak out the supply to create artificially inflated prices due to artificial scarcity of supply.

Best advice I can give you is to pre-order early or get a box from your local card shop or comic book shop if they don’t increase prices too. Pre-orders are up for future products right now on these websites like Dave & Adam’s Cards.

Yes … that’s mostly true and on purpose but flair does have some bangers and this set has 2 Marvel Masterpieces artist in this set. So their art is as good lol
