I've been playing this for a week now and it's amazing. I've got a wheat farm selling wheat as harvested and around 70% is brought to the mill and then sold. I do use the autoloader mod for this. I've only barely scratched the surface of the game. I was scrolling through the animal menu's earlier so now i want to try that. This video helped alot, thank you! Playing on elm creek btw, my farm makes around 15-35k per month depending on contracts and when i sell products it goes up to 50-70k. Becoming proffitable was a challenge as a completely new player. Loads of fun though!

Looks good, but they still haven't added collision to the animals, they still walk through each other, and walk through your tractor, so as a "simulator" it isn't much of one if your livestock can walk through walls lol.

Selective cattle breeding with AI would be awesome. Set them up for AI, breed them, get calves. Also using a chute and coral system to vaccinate or work cows. I know that's probably way too much though. I love how horses you can use as vehicle. Makes it nice to ride through cattle pens. I wish also we could make cattle pastures with fence tool like we have in the Sandhills.

My first observation from this is that horses won't be as lucrative. They seem to have a base price of 500, not 5000 as before. Unless there is a massive increase over time, then it would appear that they would not reach a value of 50000. Time, and playing will tell I guess.

So can you create cow pastures with the fencing construction? Like can you create feedlot/pasture combos like a lot of American farms are setup as for beef cattle? Have a well-water trough? That seems like a simple way to have a beef cow operation.

No the pastures are determined by the footprint of the placeable not the fences, so we will need to wait for map modders to create bigger and more integrated shapes into maps

Thanks mate, not a bad cover. Though I came here to find out where to give the cows straw as I couldn’t find the trigger point, and you didn’t cover that. Turns out you can only use a forage wagon and not bales or bucket loads. And unload it inside, next to the feed troughs. Also the chooks don’t need roosters to reproduce

Am I right in saying the breed of animals and buildings vary from map to map, I noticed Angus cows wasn’t available on this map. My only feedback for giants is when the animals lay down …. Stay down a little while they seem to be up and down like yo yos. Great animation though Another great video

Really cool! And did I see that correctly? There is no more cleanliness stat for most animals, so you don't have to clean up along the food trough every couple of minutes? That is great! I think the horses still have the stat, but they have to be brushed clean if I remember correctly. And it seems you can only get manure and slurry from the larger buildings, the cow pasture only seemed to provide milk. Though maybe if you add straw to the pasture. I love manure spreading, so I'd definitely want a source for that on my farm.

@@RisaKudela2 Usually you get manure by giving the animals straw. I am not sure if you can only give them straw in the buildings, or if the simple pastures can also generate manure by adding straw to them.

Both milk and beef depending on which breed you buy. Feed them and over time their price will go up then sell them 👍

There should be a trigger in the same place you feed them, use a bale chopper or loose straw in a trailer rather than full bales 👍

I’m not 100% sure, that’s something I’ll check, I don’t believe you would ever get to a point where you don’t have to feed them, you’d definitely have to supplement it with feed of some sort

It got to a point were in "summer" months the grass of the pasture wil feed a certain number of animals every day or two days I believe. If you use a small group of animals you could simulate summer grazing. And stock up food for the winter. Thats why it was an fun element.

Great vid btw just something to say I’m on Xbox series s and when I place any animal enclosure and say that was cows i buy the max amount of cows for the that enclosure and it can only see like 6-10 of that animal and that happened every time with every animal even if I just buy a few :( I was just wondering if u could help me out!??

Yes it’s designed like that if there were the maximum amount of cows showing it would slow your machine down, it’s to keep performance as high as possible
