I was all about Lionel when I was younger. Now I want to get back into it yet with N scale, for the train and the depth of perspective it is perfect. Great Video Overview, I recently acquired a BN SD40-2 from your guys most recent run. It runs better than any other loco I have and I absolutely love it. I only have one problem with it and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not. When I first used the loco everything worked fine, however I have noticed that when I start it with 8 key the number boards come on but the ground lights do not. Would you know the reason for this?

I'd first try a CV 8 to 8 to reset the decoder, and see if that helps. In some cases, the engine may not have a ground light installed depending on the prototype. I photographed a few of the BN units for social media, the light should be there on conductor's side- though it will appear dim under bright lighting. Also try cycling F14, that should toggle numberboards or ground lights if equipped. -Logan

Thank you for your help, I actually never ended up having to do a reset. For some reason when I was operating last night they mysteriously came back on after changing direction, not sure why. All seems to be fine now, thank you.

II got my BNSF in and I love it. When will you update your site with the decoder files for download?

Soundfiles are being added to the site soon. A quick workaround if you need it in the meantime- download whichever ESU file you'd like, read the decoder data from a factory sound unit to the project, and rewrite away. This will give you a good baseline to copy functions between. -Logan
