Great concept but not quite complete (personally speaking), if your going off road, Lexus really needs to put wheel well tubes/liners in the wells to protect other parts from dirt contamination instead of just open wells which appears to show that. As for the racks and accessories, maybe have a theft proof cover for each side and top for more security and smoother air flow over them. Looks good and a great concept for sure. Thanks for the rundown JON. :)

Awesome - thanks for showing this. LX550 is the way to go vs the Landcruiser 250 and one of the main reasons for me is the Twin Turbo V6 in the Lexus. Can't see myself driving a 4 cylinder.

I'd love to see a tape measure in the back. Is this thing any bigger than a Subaru Forester in the cargo area? Every video I see it seems smaller and smaller.

Hello again, Jon! Do the overland models have the Camera Rearview Mirror or is it the standard Rearview Mirror? My wife’s 22 RAV4 has it, so I would _hope_ this one has it, too. Even though I imagine having the ladder in the back would make it a little less useful.

Noticed a change V what was delivered. The shiny black plastic around the wiper blades at the top of the hood is now matte plastic to match the fenders.

@@TRDJon Oh man, you are right and i'm bummed. The ones i've seen in person are Overtrails with the matte plastic, just found a + on youtube from 12 days ago "Brian Matthews" and its gloss black on that one. So a trim piece difference between models. Should not be glosssy..

Are the AAP items actually installed at the factory or are the added by the dealership? I really hope it's done at the dealership so it doesn't have to be special ordered from the factory. This will be my next car and my first Lexus.

Cutesy, at least it doesn’t have the dismal ground clearance of the new Landcruiser which is less than a current bone stock 5th Gen 4Runner. I do like the color.

Lots of current GXs around here kitted up with off-road bumpers, larger tires, camping setups, etc. That said, your logic is true for any expensive SUV or truck (Raptor, TRX) that spends 99% of its life on pavement.

I’m a long time GX owner, but for me I think it would have made more sense to offer all this on a Toyota Land Cruiser / Prado version in more basic trim for $10-15K less, but keep the turbo V-6 instead of that wimpy 4 banger in the Land Cruiser we’re getting.

The new GX is going to make the LX irrelevant imo. I don’t see the LX lasting another generation on sale in the US. We really never are getting another flagship land cruiser/LX in the US ever again…

They're going to differentiate by interior probably. See how the GX is more of an upscale Toyota compared to traditional nice lexus interior as there is no wood accents, trim, only two tone interiors; the LX will likely have better leather, real wood, massaging front and rear passenger and all that to be the flagship

I agree. The LX should have had the interior they put in the LM which we do not get here. Or at the very least have two trims of LX one lux w/ that LM interior and the other overland w/ the current interior. They have the parts obviously.
