You clearly don't understand the problem. The problem is fundamental to how computers work. There is no technology that can't be reversed engineered and defeated. You could design your own hardware and OS like consoles and it's only a matter of time before that is defeated and cheaters prevail. They are making solo play more hard, and clan play easier. It is typically solo's-trio's who use the savezone grinder. Because clans wall in lighthouse or mining outpost. So the only people effected here, are the people it shouldnt. Helk, as always, going the wrong way with the changes.

There was a time me and my older brother were playing legacy, and we were absolute noobs. We had a bolty a semi shotgun and a few pistols to our name. We built a massive tower and it ended up getting raided by a hacker who phased through the walls and was flying, anyway he messaged us in chat to fight him in old radtown and me and my brother were like “we have so many guns!, there’s no way he can win!” Needless to say we got absolutely destroyed and promptly quit. Seeing how rust is now with ppl having multi large boxes of guns would be so mind blowing to my younger self. Truly have a heart for this game. P.s I miss everything being chicken made it feel really funny

I wish they would implement one of these changes to mitigate the issue with ESPing player loot location data: Distance-based loot visibility: Only send loot location data to clients within a certain radius of the container. This would reduce the amount of information clients receive and makes it harder to exploit for distant locations. Partial loot information: Instead of sending the complete contents of a container, send only basic information like container type. Players would need to physically access the container to see its full contents. Exploiting the location of loot containers would still be possible but exploiters wouldn't know which containers have your booms / Sulfur etc. Line-of-sight checks: Only send loot information for containers within a player's line of sight. This would require additional processing but make exploiting loot location data impossible.

It's not an easy thing to just do, or they would have done it a long time ago. If it's not done client-side, than it has to be done server-side. If not done properly this could have performance issues on servers, which are already quite taxed by Rust as is.

Wish the sks had the original 10 round fixed magazine. Seems like it would have filled the roll for something between revo, p2 and before you get semi. With a 30 (because the animation just shown is definitely a 3o round) it kinda seems like it will be just another semi rifle in most regards.

I agree it gets closer to the right balance, but it won't get more players to monuments. If anything even less, as more grinding will be required by smaller groups and the large groups will be even more dominate, in turn driving the small groups away. A simplistic approach like this won't fix this issue, FP need to take a more systematic approach that will have real affects.

It's a real shame that they've effectively nerfed recycling hugely for solo players only. The nerfing of safe-zone recyclers and buffing of contested zone recycling is clearly a HUGE buff for larger groups of players.

It's actually even worse then that. Larger groups will control non safe-zone recyclers now, through towers and/or walling-off, they'd be mad not to. Not that this wasn't happening before, but will become the new meta.

The only people that hate safe zones are huge zerg clans; because it takes away their biggest prey, the solo player. You might even go so far as to allow rental storage and spawning for players not connected to any TCs with "large" "upkeep" for the duration of the wipe. Most solo players are more like a casual player and less like a competitive pro...

I love the tech tree tax. I've already found myself holding onto items I need and researching them instead of just looting comps and learning them on the tech tree later. The research table feels like a necessary item again. It feels like Rust before the tech tree was added while still having it there if you really can't find the thing you're looking for.

I personally think they missed the mark with the tax on the tech tree. The reason I think this is because the problem with the tech tree is that people don't roam to find bps they instead just camp a single area. By adding the tax system to the tech tree you're just making those people sit camping in their area longer. My solution to the tech tree is to just remove all explosives, guns, and garage door. This would force people into actually roaming around the map to find bps causing more player interaction. That aside I do really like the outpost recycling update because now you can actually fight people at monuments who are recycling instead of just sitting at a safe zone.

Like you, I don't mind the recycler update & I'm against the workbench tax--but for a different reason. To start, I'm way too adhd to camp one spot. I already roam a ton. But my rng is bad and no matter how many monuments I run, I never find the items I need (most importantly, garage door). I don't play in large groups. I don't doorcamp. I enjoy playing in duos and finding a solo to befriend and become a trio for the wipe. But those friendships are cut short when clans offline us easily when we don't have garage doors. That's why tech tree is necessary. That's why this update is the difference between ending Day 1 with garage door and coming on for Day 2 to see we've been offlined by unaffected clans/large groups because we did not have garage doors to survive the first night. I'd rather not even waste my time setting up for a wipe I won't get to play. There are so many other games to play or grass to go touch. Rust isn't just competing with itself, but if it wants to keep its players, it has to keep its broad appeal. You think roams are boring now? Just wait until servers are dead because of these changes :/

The tax wouldn’t be so bad if there were more ways of getting blueprints, without having one of the items you want to be able to craft. Combining blueprint fragments like back in the day is probably too much RNG, especially with the larger item pool. Maybe there would be blueprint fragments for certain categories, maybe whole blueprints could be found as loot with different ones at different monuments, maybe having used the item before discounts the tech tree for it, etc.

So many bugs in the update -- floating scrap platforms were borked, industrial conveyors eating loot, horses still a mess. How about we stop add new gimmicks and fix the stuff that has been broken forever? You still can't ride a horse across a field without it coming to a screeching halt at the tiniest divot. Pretty sure nobody asked for a dead whale. Maybe FP can fix horses first?

Most of these changes are great. I do think the tax will benefit zergs that have a handful of players that already have BPs while they use all their scrap at outpost . While at the same time the average trio will use all their scraps on BPs to just be able to build or raid. It seems this will make the problem worse but for average player they won't even notice this change.

Mostly agree. I'm the average Rust player. I don't play in clans, I'm not the biggest solo chad--I'm just an average player who enjoys playing in a duo or trio. I don't roofcamp. I roam often. The workbench tax & attack heli changes have completely killed my desire to play rust. Clans and other larger groups will not feel this at all. they'll still progress at a steady clip. For players like me, this is the difference between ending Day 1 with garage door or getting on for Day 2 to see you've been offline full-raided. Players like me would rather spend our time on another game that has a higher fun:time-spent ratio--or touch grass. lol

guys this is really making me crazy last night i put 400 crude in the box set the conveyor filter to 25 wood 25 crude, then later i go check its neither in the box nor in the refinery eveyrthing is just gone nobody couldve stolen it, i stared at my box for like 20 minutes 99 % sure nobody stole it and even if all the 400 crude shouldnt be gone so im asking did anyone experince something similar ?

I don't think people understand the fact that there is a 20% workbench tax... but recyclers also give 20% more.... The update was literally just a straight outpost nerf, and I think everyone can agree yes, it was needed.

Destroyed foundations block building for 30 secs. That's just fantastic. If it wasn't hard enough to get a more advanced foot print down without being killed on a high pop server. Now you got to wait 30 fing seconds.....
