This VLOG is everything I like about Elanna. Genuine and polite. The previous owners of the house lived in a different time and decorated as was fashion. Elanna doesn't bash their style; in fact she embraces some of the pieces and plans to update. It is so refreshing to see a vlogger who doesn't want to totally rip out all old furniture and paint everything grey. Elanna, you will make a beautiful family home for the future. You should keep the marble fireplace alone, it will come together when things are done, maybe lean a gold filigree mirror against with with some flowers then, the fireplace in the "Good" room would look stunning painted black for a pop!

Congratulations on your new house and new nephew. What a way to start 2019! The house look incredible and just perfect for y’all. That back yard tho!! So great for the kids (extended family and any future kiddos) and Sandy. Maybe y’all can get her a little bro or sis too!!😜 love your fireplaces. From experience, when you have one that you use a lot gas is a lifesaver. Personally I’d leave that one and convert the other one. You are way braver then me to deal fireplace mess everyday! Whew!😅

Olive is getting so big! She's so precious. I would love to see like a ditl of olive. Like what she eats and stuff. I have an 11 month old so it's fun to see what other babies his age are up to.

Omg I’m so excited to see all the progress on the house, i love renovations! Your backyard is 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 literally a dream yard. As a blogger I’m sure you will have gorgeous scenery for photos. Just an idea/suggestion for the formal dining room...have you guys considered taking down the wall that divides it with the main hall? It would really open it up and give it more light and a more modern feel.

Our “fancy” living room we call the “serious talk” room 😂 When my husband and I bought our house we tore up all the carpet and refinished the existing hard wood and put in new thru the other rooms that didn’t have it already and I LOVE it. We also painted most of our rooms the same color but since the light hits it all so differently it looks like different color. We’re farm house-y over here. I do want to paint our cabinets. So if you do that please vlog it!

If you add a little bit of vinegar to the water for the steamer it makes it a lot easier to remove the wallpaper

The house looks amazing Ellana, hope you have stayed in and around Portstewart as it has the most beautiful beaches in the world, I have a holiday home in Portrush and spend all spring and summer in it. I love your idea about the island. I might be cool to have part of the island a bit lower closer to table height. It would be so much easier for the kids to sit out. Oh also you could even have a bench on one side that tucks under when not in use. It’s perfect for several kids to sit on. You can always fit one more kid on a bench!! Oh my gosh I can’t believe I just offered unsolicited advice! I never do that. Forgive me doll. 🤪

I hope you don’t get rid of that kitchen table - it looks like an Ercol table. If you’re up for refinishing it, it would look amazing! Do you have the chairs to it as well?

It does come with chairs! Maybe stain it darker and put it in the dining room?

It depends on the style you’re going for but, if you Google Ercol Refectory Table you should get some ideas. I’ve seen loads where the table top has been lightened and the bottom painted a light colour, gives off a country/shabby chic vibe. I’ve got an old one in my kitchen that I picked up at a charity shop years ago. I never refinished it (maybe one day) and sadly the chairs didn’t make it but I love it. We’ve paired it with grey Eiffel chairs and a black and white flat weave rug underneath - I love eclectic/mid century decorating.
