Truth. IMO this is the best all around staff since ‘17. I don’t see us not being a better team this year. As far as recruiting…. the top recruits are interested and once we prove to ‘em we’re still the SEC’s best we’ll continue to recruit elite. Rtr!

A point that no one really talks about. Sabans hiring of assistants had dropped off. We have struggled mightily for a few years now with O line development. as one, The DC hiring also left a lot to be desired.

@@theknowitall4090 Pete Golding ruined our defense and a good bit of player development IMO. Steele put it back together within an offseason. Had Pruitt stayed, I think kids like Dylan Moses, Shane Lee, Demouy Kennedy, Drew Sanders would’ve have much different careers. We’re in good hands again and I’m excited to see the development. Rtr!

Either way it goes, I would love to see us use multiple QB’s. I hate hearing that “if you have two you don’t have one” argument. We have multiple guys that can compete and keep each other on their toes. It only benefits us to have more than one capable QB that you can plug in at any moment with no heavy drop-off if one gets hurt, or isn’t on that day. Plus when you do that you’re almost always going to have one stand out, and there’s no crying about who deserves to be the guy.

I have no doubts abt Milroe. I would like to know who is going to start at center. If it’s Brockermeyer…I feel like someone needs to address why he never allowed him to play after Seth literally sabotaged the 2023 season. That still really bothers me especially after his most recent comments about the players’ attitudes after the loss to Michigan in the Rose Bowl. That loss was due to Seth’s atrocious snaps and Tommy Rees’s bad play calling…which ultimately falls back on Nick Saban. I know it’s an unpopular opinion…but I’m really glad he is gone. I wish he had retired 3 yrs ago.

Umm this isnt vanilla rees calling plays anymore.. watch milroe next to austin mack. Watch austin mack already in throwing motion when milroe takes his first step back.. theres a big difference. Im all for the best qb for this offense to start.. but getting feet set and rid of ball quickly is a very key thing.. micheal penix didnt dick around last season in deboers offense and you have to expect the same from this offense even if its just drills

You would think Bama fans learned from the whole Texas-USF situation where they wanted Milroe gone after the Texas game only to be begging for him to be re-instated in the USF game. Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener, especially when you have a QB who literally just finished 6th in the Heisman race. SIXTH. I’ve never seen or heard of an instance where a QB was respected to that degree by voting members of a Heisman committee and yet disrespected by his own fan base as much as Jalen Milroe is. Especially considering the OL play and the AWFUL center play last year. That man had to overcome so much last year, and to even produce what he did is a testament to his ability to play QB at a high level. Milroe is a TRUE leader of this football team, the command he had in his first year as a starter should show you that. I embrace the QB competition, you gotta earn your spot every day in practice, I get it. But damn, you don’t hear NEAR as much talk about possible replacements with any other QB who didn’t accomplish half of what Milroe did last year. BAMA fans, we gotta do better.

It doesn’t have to be about being a good fan though. Milroe did a good job for the team last season and this fan appreciates that. IF he’s still struggling with finding reads and making adjustments to the defense and most importantly isn’t offering the team the best chance to win then I’m fairly certain that Coach DeBoer will wind up putting someone else in at QB1. If Milroe does the best job for the team I’m okay with him being the starter. If he hasn’t improved and the staff thinks someone else offers a better win percentage and benches Milroe I’m okay with that too. Whatever is best for the team. RTR

Hey, I understand what you are saying. They had to change the offense so the receivers were on one side of the field, so it cut the field in half he had to read, and such. BUT, Milroe is a legit QB (by the end of the year). He improved. Still, would be nice to run a full offensive scheme that isn't neutered. But Milroe isn't a running QB, he turned out to be a legit QB.

His problem is reading the whole field and making correct choices on who to throw too sometimes. But he most definitely can pass. QB's have another year of growth behind them so they should be better, and the offensive scheme is much better suited to enhance a QB's ability to be efficient. Given those factors the QB play this year should be light years better than last year. The last couple of years the OC could not seem to scheme or coach their way out of a wet paper bag as evidenced by all the QB sacks, even with by far the biggest OL and most athletic QB in college football....very frustrating to watch.
