First look at the FlightSim Studio TECNAM P2006 Analog in Microsoft Flight Simulator

Today we're taking a first look at the FlightSim Studio TECNAM P2006 Analog in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Apologies for perhaps not following procedures terrifically accurately this time - this was the 5TH recording of the video, after experiencing numerous problems with the aircraft - among them the gauges all failing, the state saving sometimes working, sometimes not, one or other of the engines flat-out refusing to start, and/or various switches getting stuck on or off. Oh - and the NAV 1 instrument's glideslope being reversed. It's frustrating, because if not for the small bugs it would be a great plane.
Let's wait and see how quickly the various bugs get fixed, then we'll take it out again.

Honestly the fact that FSS I charging for this like it’s a separate aircraft really bothers me. I know I can get a discount for owning the original one but it essentially just a panel mod. This should have been a 10 dollar upgrade and then Bundled with the original going forward.

In real life is a well known training twin but simmers are interested only on known US made aircrafts, Cirrus, Cessnas and Pipers. Nothing more. Even the widely used DA40 are not much used by simmers. Now they have discovered turboprops that are a good alternatives to the annoying liners. A simmer don't have the pro/hour costs of a real life pilot so they choose alwags the best in every category not the less expensive.

I’m very thankful you did a review on it, I really love the P2006 but I was just waiting to purchase it until all the bugs were worked out, then I saw this version. I would much prefer the classic gauges! Do you know if this will be a seperate purchase, or an update in the original glass version?

Btw, Jonathan, after much practice, I've managed to figure out how to settle the PC12 on the ground without issue. This is an interesting bird. The 2012 is a dream to fly although somewhat boring tbh. Thanks for the review.

I love these Tecnam aircraft. I only bought the two glass cockpit ones, but I do keep gravitating back to them for short hop flights. I'm sure the developers will fix the glide slope indicator issue on this panel!

Have you noticed whether the autopilot works? It doesn't on mine. The A/P master switch lights up the display, but the buttons on the unit don't do anything.

This one wont make my list. I never fly the 2006 that I have. Nothing wrong with their work, I just dont like the plane. Cant see out of it, and there is not enough power for mountain flights that I often do in colorado and arizona area.

Thank-you Jonathan for this first look at the P2006 Analog. This indeed is a great aircraft if all one wants is a photo op; indeed the aircraft is very nice looking. And…; so much for all the positive I have to say about the aircraft. But as someone who used to be a computer programmer for a simulation, the decision to release this aircraft is… Sorry, at the moment I cannot immediately find a euphemistic word to adequately express my thoughts. But, shame on Flightsim Studio. Earnestly, I do hope an update to fix the problems comes quickly. This could be a very nice aircraft to adorn one’s hangar.

I downloaded the aircraft from Aerosoft, nice rebate if you own the glass cockpit version. The only issue I could repeat was the glideslope indicator operating in reverse. I made the flight at Coolangatta so that it was the same as the video. Love the channel and content. Dissy

You’d really have to want gauges to choose this over the new COWS DA42. The later has much better visibility and performance.

Two completely different planes… this is a passenger / cargo hauler.

@@culpepper7665 the P2006 and DA42 are 100% in the same class. The P2006 barely holds 4 larger people and is not a cargo hauler. I think you’re confusing the P2006 and P2012.

Too
