The Hi Beat movement is fantastic. While it may give up a bit to the Spring Drive movement in absolute accuracy, it's still a remarkably accurate movement, particularly in Grand Seiko (regulated) guise.

Blue Jay is a good nickname. Maybe you can capture some Hopkins alums on this piece. I’ll be interested in seeking the side-by-side. I like the rotating bezel, but this sounds and looks big. Congrats on the 1k+ threshold!

Great video. But GS why...?! A 42mm max (40mm even better) would’ve been on my list... but this is just ridic.. It might wear smaller... still... I don‘t understand GS. At least more micro adjustments possible....

chrisltj my fav GS model is not a GMT... But I LOVE the dial from the SBGH267 blue whirlpool... Looking into some Spring Drive models also. I like the spring heritage edition SBGA413 with the light pink dial. It‘s so unique in color. But very hard to get it in Germany... Customs fees are high and with Covid-19 flying to the US is not possible atm.
