Nice review---thanks for the comparison. Yeasu has pulled ahead of Kenwood for mobile rigs and Im glad to see the old jelly bean Yeasu mic fade away in favor of the new one. So happy top have a name brand dual watch radio back on the market, replacing the Kenwood V71 and Yeasu 8900.

The two separate microphone inputs for the FTM-150R are great. Sometimes mounting scenarios require either option.

FTM-500 has this too.

Why have the manufacturers abandoned SSB and CW on VHF?

So any reason why someone would buy one of these over an FTM 200, 300 or 500? I can't see any.

Yes it does cross-band repeat Yes it does APRS on the sub-band with a Mobilinkd or other TNC. APRSdroid is better than typing on the rig anyway.

2:52 "Is does not do APRS, but is does do WARRANTY". Is that a new mode?

I have the FTM 150 r a s p got a loud front facing speaker sounds good the only drawback I have against the radio is the ASP it brings in unwanted signals . Went on a repeater listening with the ASP on you can hear chatter going on sound like a radio station bleeding over that's the grap I have against the asp. The ASP makes it sound like side Band bleeding over on am CB radio did .

Hey DXE your kinda late showing these radios. Make a video showing how to use the software on them.

Unfortunately it's not the first look , There's plenty of videos that's been out a week or more .

Tempted to get the FTM-150 as I've moved from Newport now and still speak to the same people on 2m but are much weaker so this ASP system would be beneficial to me. But apart from that I rarely hear any activity on 2m FM these days.

The absolute LAST thing I need is another FM only repeater radio. And anybody that REALLY works satellites works the linears which means utilizing SSB, CW or Digital modes. These arent even better than the FTM series. Thanks but no thanks.
