First Look At The Newly Refurbished Cayton Village CAMC Site

Although the refurbishment wasn't completed the site was fully open as we take a sneak preview of the new modern facilities Cayton Village has to offer including new super pitches, glamping pods and beautifully landscaped wildflower beds. The site will be fully complete on 17 October.

When I was a child 50, 60 years ago that was my friends farm, John Dalby. He started the camp site. Coming out of the gate if you turn right & right again where the small bungalows are all that land from the old school up to the old church was his yard full of animals, mixed in those days, & his original house was the one on the hill next to the blacksmiths arm's. His son Charles went to the old school with me, we would play on the campsite, no tarmac then, just free range hens, ducks & peacocks Then when the farm was demolished to build the bungalows he had the new house built on the other side of the gate & just ran the camp site till he retired & sold it. It was so beautifully in those days, with big hedges full of song birds & wild flowers, & if we walked from there to the beach not one car would pass us, & that could have been in one hours walk messing about & stopping when we were small.

Many thanks for the comprehensive tour you both gave us , site will be lovely next year when landscaping is established. Great awning nice and light ,ideal for short stays. ( but one must have a Tracey with you for guidance) ha ha sorry Kev 🚐👍

Great review of the refurbished site, thank you. I like your new awning, it’s a great idea. We’ve got an Vango airbeam and it’s very heavy. Like you say, ok for long stays but the smaller one looks ideal for shorter ones.
