The OM-1 II is an amazing camera, especially for wildlife photography. I use to use Canon. For the price and weight, would take the OM-1 II over the FF systems. The image quality is amazing and I do print images. So many still have the opinion that m4/3 is a joke. I show them images that I have taken and are cropped. They like the images and like the look and detail. Eventually, I tell them it was taken with a m4/3 system. Some walk away and others ask questions. I bit the bullet last year and bought the 150-400 Pro tC1.25 lens. Still in sticker shock but, no regrets. I worked all my life and saved money and wanted to treat myself once. Don't own a car or have fancy things. I have owned fix focal length lenses and I will take a zoom lens any day of the week. Much more versatile. Hey, use what you like. Being able to be as close as 1.3 metres to the subject makes it work in so many situations. There is no perfect system.

Thanks for another great review. How do you think this one would work when digiscoping?

E-M1 MK II is a good camera. It has a clasic focus system which challanges you to be a better photographer in order to get maximum result. OM-1 is the next level camera, excelent for birds. What is very dificult to get with E-M1 MK II, it is easy with OM-1.

Cool review :-) Using the de-noise options in software like Lightroom etc… will help minimise the high ISO noise. De-noise works so well now that it is probably a better option in low light than trying to use a low ISO setting with the slow shutter speeds that will give as the photos will generally be sharper, especially for moving subjects like birds, and to combat any image shaking. I’ve been using Lightroom de-noise on my photos taken with a 10 year old Canon 7D MK2, which I’d guess has similar, or worse, levels of noise at high ISO settings than the OM1 mk2. Though to use the fairly new Lightroom de-noise option in Lightroom I think you have to take RAW photos. M

Totally agree! I was messing around with the free trial of Topaz Photo AI (another vid hopefully) and it’s crazy how well the denoising features work!

Could you try to shoot something other than bird photography? Maybe sports or portraits? Would love to see how it handles those scenarios
