Can I use it as a traditional L3 router (like a Cisco ISR router) without the NAT function as I want to place it behind the ISP provided Cisco router to create L3 network segmentation for internal network.

Hey thanks for watching, as of UISP Router 5.0.1 it can be setup standalone without the need for a UISP Controller. However, anything before that requires a UISP Controller in order to be setup and update the firmware. In short, from 5.0.1 onwards you don't need the UISP Controller but you will miss out on backups, alerts and stats. Hope that helps 👍

Hey thanks for watching. UISP Console can host the UISP Application and also be an external one, such as HostiFi. All of the ports don't have PoE. With the UISP Router, it has to be adopted to an external controller and it has support for 27v PoE on all Ethernet ports. Despite little clarification from Ubiquiti, 27v works with all 24v devices.

So I wanna start an ISP, can I use UISP controller without the UISP router cause it's not available in my country. The PtP links are available and can I use them with something like pfsense router with UISP controller and pppoe clients.

Hey Aryan! Thanks for watching the video. You asked if you can use the UISP Controller without the UISP Router - Yes this is completely possible, the UISP Application can run any "provider" Ubiquiti devices, that aren't UniFi, such as airMAX, UISP Wave, UFiber, airFiber and much more. The PtP devices you can absolutely adopt to the UISP Application, for monitoring. For the third-party devices, such as pfsense you can do basic monitoring via ICMP or SNMP using UISP. If you are interested, HostiFi hosts the UISP Application and our support team can help you get up and running!

Thanks for watching. All of the UISP devices which offer 27v have full compatibly with 24v. It is essentially designed to offer some buffer room for outdoor devices and voltage loss on long runs.

Is there a way to setup the SFP port as the WAN?

Not right now it seems. With current software, port 1 is the WAN and it cannot be changed.

Hello good morning. Sorry, is there a way to return them to factory settings so that they can be re-adopted. I ask because the engineer who previously worked with me unadopted the router and I configured it using his cell phone and now I want to adopt it with my cell phone but he asks me for a password and I don't know what it is. Hello Marco, so if you have physical access to the UISP Router, there is a reset button on the front of the device. You can push that in with a SIM ejection tool for 10secs and the device will go back to factory settings.
