Question can you raise Regiments? I would assume so and not really have to pick ant unit thats already made. And if you can are you able to pick from all the states that are on the side you pick. like example raising a Tennessee regiment for the confederacy and fighting in Virginia just like what happened with some Tennessee regiments being in Virginia in 1861
@grandtactician1283 Жыл бұрын
When starting the game, you must pick one of the existing regiments. You can recruit more later, from all the states like in normal game (in eastern theater the western theater states have less recruits available to east, though)

@Rhett_Kierbow Жыл бұрын
The confederacy didn’t have that much in terms of marines and those they did have were mostly on ships
@jonathandavis1998 Жыл бұрын
@@Rhett_Kierbow While it is true that CS Marines served aboard ships, they did fight on land, here are the battles: Sailor’s Creek, Drewry's Bluff, Wilmington, Charleston, Pensacola, Norfolk, Galveston, and Savannah, among many others. whether small or big they contributed to the Confederacy, The many men of the CS Marine Corps deserve to be heard, told and learn about. The CS Marines fought with distinction, Fort Fisher, the strongest of Confederate coastal defense points along the Atlantic seaboard, had been built to protect the port of Wilmington, North Carolina. Its walls were 25 feet thick, and it mounted 44 heavy guns. Wilmington was the South’s last port open to commerce, and the Confederates intended to defend it. The Union was equally determined to capture the Fort and thus seal off the South. The first Union attempt to capture the bastion in December of 1864 was beaten back. A month later, Rear Admiral David D. Porter and Major General Alfred H. Terry returned with enough forces to do the job. A furious naval bombardment heralded the landing of 8,000 Federal soldiers and 2,000 U. S. sailors and Marines. The tragic aspects of a civil war are all too apparent in this action, where Confederate Marines and U. S. Marines fought each other. The Confederates beat back several Union assaults on that January afternoon in 1865, but finally the Confederate lines were pierced. The fighting continued far into the night and the defenders gave fierce resistance, but defeat was upon them. Although Federal sailors and Marines had been driven back, the U. S. infantry finally overran the Fort from the west on the land side. The South’s last major port had been closed. The end was near. Confederate Marines who had survived so many hard-fought land and naval battles were now gathered together in Richmond for the last stand of the Confederacy. It had been three years since the Marines had served together in a corps. Their ranks had been greatly thinned. Friends and comrades had gone down with the Alabama, died on board the Tennessee, and been lost at Fort Fisher. The surviving Marines would serve equally as heroically in the last, dying days of the Confederacy. Federal forces were pressing hard against the defenses of Richmond and Petersburg and it was evident that the haggard, starving remnants of the once proud Confederate forces could not hold out much longer. Finally, on the night of 2 April 1865, Lee decided to abandon Richmond and (lee westward where, perhaps, he could join forces with General Joseph E. Johnston in the Carolinas, or take to the mountains and continue the war in guerrilla style. It was a slim hope in the face of the overwhelming Federal forces, but Lee determined to try it. He started his army on the road to Appomattox. When the order was given to evacuate Richmond, Confederate Marines and sailors spiked their guns and blew up the ships to prevent their falling into Union hands. Amidst the exploding shells, smoke, confusion, and burning, the Confederate forces began their retreat. A detachment of Marines was assigned to guard one of the last trains out of Richmond, which bore Jefferson Davis, other high government officials, and much of the Confederate treasury. The rest of the Marine Corps, along with the Naval Brigade, was assigned to the Army under General Ewell. As the Confederates fled Richmond, the all-consuming fires cast eerie shadows on the gaunt men. For the next few days of retreat, the outnumbered and exhausted Marines helped to fight off the pursuing Federals. Finally, on 6 April 1865, the Confederate Army turned and faced the enemy. They would fight one last, desperate battle, and Confederate Leathernecks would share in that fight at, for them, the appropriately-named Sailor’s Creek. The ensuing action saw massed Union infantry and cavalry formations wipe out entire Confederate divisions. With Anderson’s and Gordon’s commands destroyed, only Ewell’s Corps and the Marines and Naval Brigade remained intact. They withstood several more determined Federal cavalry attacks, and at one point they even halted the grinding mass of the Federal infantry, but defeat was inevitable. Ewell’s flanks were turned and his command crumbled. The general himself was captured and he passed the word to surrender. Only then did the Marines lower their flag. That day, with the surrender of Ewell’s Corps, most of the Confederate Marines became prisoners. The few who managed to escape were scattered among the remaining decimated units of Lee’s Army. Within three days they, too, would fall into enemy hands with the final surrender at Appomattox. The end had come. The ninth of April 1865 marked the real demise of the Southern Confederacy. Seeing a US Marine Battalion Unit in this KZbin Video has me more eager to play a CS Marine Battalion as a Regimental Commander aka Colonel of a Marine Battalion.
