Great review! I own one of these fiddles, and they would be an incredible value at 2X the price. One thing to keep in mind is that the pickup cavities are not shielded (there is shielding paint, but it's poorly applied) and the bridge is not properly shielded, so you get quite a bit of 60 cycle hum and scratchy pot noise, but after thoroughly shielding mine it is now extraordinarily quiet for a single coil guitar. That is the main concern with these guitars. I also replaced the Wilkinson saddles with 2 Rutters brass B/E, D/G, and an aluminum E/D. Now I've got perfect or very near perfect intonation and tone for days.

Just received one several days ago. Mainly wanted it for the neck as my hands are a bit smaller than average. Fenders American Ultra has a similar neck, but it's over 2100 dollars, so I gave this a shot. I like the thin profile but the compound radius may take some getting used to. I have already changed the strings to some Ernie balls I had lying around and that was an improvement. The frets seem tall, but they measure pretty close to medium jumbo on mine. The action is set really low and I am having fret buzz issues on the 5th and 6th strings which I will correct. Intonation was reasonably close out of the box. The electronics are fine with no static when adjusting or playing. The quality and workmanship is much better than the used player plus I recently bought for twice the price. Yeah the pick ups seem harsh, but I haven't tried adjusting them, yet. I may end up changing the pick ups and maybe even the bridge. But I will keep it. Thanks for the review and demo.

Sounds like some similar experience - Would be interesting to put it up against a similarly priced Squire. Cheers!

They need to put these guitars out in classic colors: Black, Olympic White, Daphne Blue -- then I might be interested. The fret work, stainless and locking tuners are definitely great features. Fix the windings on the pups, and the guitar might compete against Fender MIM. Hopefully, M MUSO is watching the reviews and reading the comments.

I really want a black one, I have considered the sky blue looking one, but not sure I can live with the color.

I got this exact guitar as a gift and played my first gig with it last weekend. My drummer said the color reminded him of old time prosthetics lol. I nicknamed it GP because it looks to me like a color of granny panties. 😂 Before gigging I changed the strings, made a minor adjustment to the truss rod. Aside from the switch top hat falling off the guitar performed and sounded quite nice. The body is lighter than a standard tele, and with the locking tuners it is a bit top heavy. I bought a strap that added some friction on the shoulder and it was not an issue. I had a bit of hum which was not bad but I’ll be tinkering with the electronics soon, just because. I’m going to try out a different bridge pup, looking to trade off some of the bright tele but for a darker heavier tone since I play predominantly rock. Also looking to upgrade the controls to a P20D setup with a 4-way switch. Overall I am very pleased with the guitar.

Stock strings are always a throw away item. Try adjusting the height of the pickups if the output seems weak. Also, the saddles are probably not adjusted well out of the box.

Currently leaning towards that Eart T380. But if I had the money, I'd grab a Charvel So-Cal custom.

It’s great that you’re being picky but I can find all these flaws in West Paul and fender as well. But I like the fact that you’re pointing this out! But when I purchased my $1300 custom less Paul, it was in such a mess. I had to take it to a Lutheran to have it set up properly because it was a train wreck. Straight out of Nashville with a photo of it finish production off the production line and so on. But when I purchase these guitars, such as.Music they come with a better set up and ready to play every time. At least this is my experience. And I will continue to buy these guitars. Thank you for your input and your expertise!

Jet JT350 BSC butterscotch. The black and sunburst JT350s have modern 6 saddle bridges and humbuckers in the neck with a push-pull coil split on the tone control. Necks are amazing. The butterscotch is straight up ashtray bridge slab body with a handshake neck joint. Needs compensated saddles right away. Pickups are a bit modern sounding but a set of Bootstrap Original Recipes will get you sorted trad-way.

Great video, I bought one of Musi's other models and it was an outstanding guitar, but the neck was way too small (radius). Here's the thing with Musi, EART et. al.; if managed properly they could easily take market share from Fender Squiers or Gibson Epiphones, but before they can do that they would need to make more than just THIN pattern necks - one size does not fit all.

I'm really interested in this guitar, but the comments of the neck being thin concern me a bit. This might be too niche a question, but how does the thinness of neck compare to a D'Angelico neck? I used to have a D'Angelico Bedford, but I had to sell it because the neck was too thin for me and made my hand cramp frequently. Thanks for anyone who can answer! And great video!

Hey these guitars are fantastic! I have 4 of them and the QC is incredibly consistent! The oickups are actually 7.6K bridge and 7.3K neck which for a tele is perfect for cleans and grit. Not to hot and not vintage either. The strings make a significant difference so yeah change them to some DR Dragonskins or elixir optiwebs and rock & roll. Lastly these are wired like the old 60 teles in the sense that the belief back then was that since the pickup is mounted to the bridge plate and grounded to the volume pot, the the bridge did not need additional grounding. Simply run a small grounding wire from your volume pit to the under side of the bridge and that hum will go away. I did that to allbof mine and they are all dead quiet. Here's a vid of one my 1st one once I installed the ground to the bridge kzbin.info/www/bejne/i17RZoqafNhkp9E Great vids! Subscribed!❤
