​​​​​@@FriendoftheDorknothing like Colombian at all. She says "... que este su reino se acreciente sobre la Tierra" stressing the third syllable as if it sounded "acreTZiente". That phoneme is obsolete in Modern Spanish but common in medieval texts like Cantar de Mio Cid's "tornava la cabeTZa". It's difficult to explain here, but any native Spanish speaker would tell easily! It was around Don Quixote's publication a century later than Isabella's reign that Modern Spanish's pronounciation and spelling started to develop and evolve to what we have today.

Spaniard here...linking Queen Isabel the Catholic with the "reconquista" is quite a jump...reconquista was mostly finished by the fourteenth century, as only granada and small other pockets remained in the hands of the muslims... Also, the inquisition was at the peak of its power in the late sixteenth century...almost 100 years after Isabel died...and by the way, Spain did not have colonies, but "provincias" oveseas, as any conquered territory became part of the empire, and its citizens (even natives), citizens of the empire (Isabel stated that natives had souls and, as such, had human rights that de to be respected).

@@Skadi609 their involvement in the reconquista was quite limited...for us spaniards, reconquista was mostly done after the Battle of Navas de Tolosa, in 1212, which marked the turning point in the reconquista and paved the way for the a lot of recovered territory by Castilla and Navarra during the following decade and the critical decline of the Almoade Empire... What i am saying is that if they wanted reconquista to be a Pilar of the leader of Spain, they shouldve used other kings, like Alfonso VIII of Castilla, Pedro II of Aragón or Sancho VII of Navarra. Isabel was a great queen, but not as important as Carlos I, Alfonso X the wise, Felipe II and the ones i mentioned before.

@@Codigoduro1 The thing is that only Isabella (and her husband, but Aragon was the smaller kingdom) combined the Reconquista with the Age of Discovery, which is probably the main reason for Isabella's inclusion in the game. Furthermore, the end of the Reconquista is not only in the conquest of the Muslim territories but also in the expulsion of the non-Christians from Spain. And above all, she is the one who established the Spanish Inquisition.

Giving that Amani and Trung Trac got upgraded from Great Generals to Leaders I was hoping for El Cid to be the Spanish leader But they also brought back Hatsepshut, Augustus and Xerxes from previous Civ entries, so it also makes sense for Isa to return Plus she needed a redeption after the poor voice performance she had in Civ V (not blamming the woman who voices her, just the choice of not give her proper advice and coaching)

Anyone have predictions for the remaining Civs? Here are my guesses. Exploration: Aztec, Songhai, Feudal Japan, Inca Modern: United States, France, Mexico, Germany, Russia, China, Japan, Ottomans, British Empire, Vietnam, Brazil Additional Thoughts: It feels like getting to 31 is going to leave some pretty significant gaps in. Based on what's confirmed, it really looks like the modern era will be leaving either South America, Africa or the Middle East completely out. If the Inca aren't included in Exploration, then neither is South America. It's weird to say that 31 civs will leave a lot of people out but spreading it across 3 ages really takes a toll.

Yes, for some of them at least. They've already announced that both China and India are exactly like this, and while it seems like they won't be included on-launch, they talked about Japan being an example of a similar thing at Gamescom IIRC. Specifically Han, Ming, and Qing China are confirmed, as is Mauryan, Songhai, and Mughal India.

Cool that it is like that for Japan or India, but they would have do the same for a lot of other European civs that spanned through at least two ages: Poland, France, Spain, the Netherlands. Relatively easier job would be Germany / Italy (only modern), England (exploration) -> United Kingdom (modern)

What is the animation at 0:05? I'd prefer if the leader diplomacy screens looked like they used to, where YOU ARE your leader looking at the other leader. It makes it more immersive. It seems as though it wouldn't take much development time to change it since the animations are already there. The current diplomacy screens as they are make the game seem more like a Humankind ripoff.

Am i misunderstanding her naval benefit? Shouldn't it say "minus 50% Gold" if it is a bonus, like she gets to buy naval units cheaper? The way I understand it now "plus 50% Gold towards purchasing Naval Untis" sounds like she has to spend more Gold to buy them...which is not a bonus 😅

Natural Wonders will still be in your Homelands in the Antiquity Age at least. It definitely will not be _as_ good as it becomes in the Age of Exploration but it's not totally useless still.
