They dont say that if you put 4K on it automatically downgrades the Herz. It can't go together 4k with 120 Herz. Remember that.

Think I’ll be moving my 83” A90J down to the basement and getting the 85” X85L for the living room!

I actually meant the X95L for the living room. Although if Sony decides to do a 83 or 85 inch QD-Oled I might hold out for that!

How many dimming zones in the 55"? I'm guessing 24-32. I don't care if you don't think its important and algorithm is all that matters blah blah, I still want to know because it does matter to an extent.

@Krynale What a bizarre reply, the TV isn't released yet, how can I do that? I want to know before making a purchasing decision. Are you suggesting I should buy it, count the zones and then return it if I'm unsatisfied? Or maybe do a dimming zone count test on the TV in the middle of a bright showroom floor? I don't think you thought this comment through haha. If they don't tell me I'll just wait for the enthusiast reviews, but they aren't saying because it will be disappointing. The algorithm matters yes, Sony TVs that have way less zones often give a better overall image than a Samsung with tons of zones, but there will be more blooming and/or other compromises to the picture quality that means it ends up not being as good as my current Sony, a ZD9. I'm looking for a TV to match or exceed the ZD9 with modern features, that my ZD9 lacks like 4K120hz support. They have failed to produce such a product so far, the X95K was getting closer and certainly way better than the ZF9, XG95, XH95 or X95J. They were reserving the top backlight tech for the 8K LCDs, they still aren't as good as the ZD9 dimming-wise because they have been brighter but also had less zones per square inch in each sizes leading to more blooming and worse image than ZD9 even if its an 8K. Now they've even backed off on making those ZD9-esque 8Ks, if they don't bother making a 4K as good as the ZD9 then I'll just wait for the next display tech breakthrough or buy a 75" ZD9. If Hisense or TCL can get their processing closer to Sony then I'd rather buy them than all the (imo) rubbish Neo QLEDs Samsung is producing (I game as well as watch films, the game mode is useless on Neo QLEDs), but thats unlikely to happen without the cloning of Sony or Panasonics image processing software (could happen knowing the Chinese), or a long period of time at which point the next display tech will be out and I'll buy Sony again. I think Sony will get left behind if they don't embrace having more standard FALD or FALD MiniLED sets. They are making subpar/boring decisions in the face of a shrinking market share and pretending they are still number 1, its kind of embarrassing. Who cares if the A95K is the best rated TV this year, normal consumers are buying S95B in lieu of it due to the stupid price. Maybe thats not their fault and it needs to be priced that way to make a profit but I doubt it, its just usual Sony nonsense pricing, they weren't selling nearly as many OLEDs as LG from 2017-2020 and now conveniently the price of the 2021+ OLEDs is matched to LG. They pretended the acoustic surface (which I do like) was part of the reason to price the A1E and beyond as it was, but it just wasn't true because now they have that in the close to A2 priced A75K (which also didn't sell well afaik). Ranted a lot there sorry ha, just making my point.

@@Kuranghi You don't have to apologize for making your point. I just think that what matters is the personal experience and real-world performance. Just like all the motorcycles /cars I've had. Lots of manufacturers tried to dazzle with horsepower on paper but at the end of the day it wasn't necessarily what provided enjoyment.

@Krynale 100% mate, cheers for the pleasant reply! I just like to have a rough idea and then get excited for the proper reviews. I get what you're saying about personal experience but I find the reviewers I follow will always compare to the previous best examples like my ZD9 and say whether it stacks up. I am overthinking it though, I should just be happy with my TV and upgrade when I really need to as I don't care about 4K120hz that much because its hard to run games like that without upscaling (making it not 4K anymore) or you have to buy the stupid expensive GPU to do it. VRR I care even less about right now, as its got big problems. I'm a TV salesman as well as a consumer so I like to see the tech move on and not stagnate, but you'll be glad to know that my job involves basically saying what you've said and just telling people its a great experience and to enjoy it. They come back and tell me all the time how much they love what I sell them and its not Sonys.

@@Kuranghi Right, it would be nice if Sony gave that info but we already know they don't, so It's a moot point in my opinion. If I'm honest with you I'm just glad that Sony is still making television, all their Japanese peers crumbled. Sony found a way to continue that business, but you have to make sacrifices/choices. Every company does (no one has an infinite budget for those tvs) I mean Samsung doesn't even have Dolby Vision in 2023. Meanwhile Sony is one of the few manufacturers to offer a panel of each panel type while supporting all formats. Are they always on first with their features? No, but when it come to picture quality, if they feel will have a true impact, they don't hesitate (They weren't late on QD-OLED adoption eh?) I'm going to conclude saying that sometimes customers are hard to follow. "We want diversity of choice in the market" but also "We want every brand to do everything its competitors are doing." I'm glad Sony is confident enough in its own identity.
