Thank you for showing us the cards as well as your spread. I fell in love with If Women Rose Rooted when it came out and got to attend one of Sharon's workshops in Santa Fe back in 2019. And I LOVE Hannah Willow's art and actually have her Oracle deck. Looking forward to getting this one, but my friends got me Oracle decks for my birthday, so I am spending time with them first.

Oooh I read a book by this author before. Well I read a few stories from the book. I haven’t finished it but I loved them. It’s was a book of short stories about shape shifters. This deck is wild and I’m here for it.

A very beautiful deck but I am a bit disappointed in the fact that there are only a handful of cards with women of colour in them (there are around 30 cards with ppl/dieties on them). It feels like one of them decks where they put a few people of colour in at the very end just so it would appear diverse but they didn't make it with people of colour in mind. The "isle of women" card gives that away - 3 Caucasian women - it is such a great invitation of a card that could feature women from all around the world in it... Ah well.

The deck is based on European and Celtic deities. The myths and culture of europe and the Celtic deities are not black or people of colour so that explains why the women are mainly white. The majority of the women in the deck represent the women from the myths of the celts so it would be culturally wrong and disrespectful to show these women or the stories they represent as people of colour. I see what you mean but considering the culture that these cards are based on it makes sense that the majority of them look the way that they do.

I think you should look at where this is based and it is Celtic. Celtic normally white and red heads. Not every culture has dark skinned.
