We stayed a few nights in early December at surf side and thought it was great. I don’t know if we were just lucky but had no problem with noise. Only thing that was annoying was that only one elevator worked in our section but didn’t really impact us much. Would definitely stay again or at this sister hotel.

This is the resort I stayed at while I was on my Universal Studios trip a month ago! I stayed there the 9th through the 12th and left the 13th. While I was at the resort, I thought it was very nice. No loud noises or anything, very peaceful. The dining area, Pier 8 Market, was very nice as well and gives people plenty of food and drink options to choose from, the food I tried was very delicious. For breakfast I had one of their delicious, glazed donuts every day and stuck with my usual chicken tenders and fries for dinner and I got snacky stuff to bring with me to the parks and to have in the evening for later (I'm a very picky eater don't judge lol). Also, when I got checked into the hotel, the front desk person that was helping me even got me a room on the first floor which I really liked and appreciated since after a long day at the parks each day, I would've felt too tired to go up the elevator then walk to my room. I was also able to check into my room early and get my stuff settled in before I went to the parks on my first day, so if you're wondering if you can check in early, don't be afraid to ask! then, the pool was very nice as well, I got to enjoy it two out of the four days I was there which was nice, and it helped me cool down from the Florida heat. (The only downside for me for the pool experience was that my room key wouldn't unlock the gate door to allow you into the pool area, so I had to have a person help me get in both times I went there.) My hotel room was very nice as well, honestly it was the nicest hotel room I've ever stayed in. It had two queen sized beds, 3 beautiful paintings on the back wall and 1 on the front wall where the HD tv is, a huge window/curtains, a very nice shower with a nice bathroom vanity/sink area, etc. The room overall felt very open/spacious/big (the standard room that I was in was a little bit bigger than the one in the video and the bathroom didn't have the tub shower, just a flat floor shower and the room had a really tall/big window in the bedroom area that went from the floor all the way to the top/ceiling with matching long curtains) and the room really gave me a beachy/tropical feel which I really liked as well. Overall, I would highly recommend anyone staying at the dockside inn hotel for their universal studios trip because 1) It's the most affordable option, you don't need to stay at the most expensive/fanciest universal hotel to have a nice trip, plus you won't be staying at the hotel most of the time anyways. 2) Even though it's the most affordable option, it's still very nice and fancy looking, to me at least. If you like beachy/tropical themed hotels and rooms, you will like the dockside inn hotel. 3) transportation is very easy and reliable, the buses picks people up every 15 minutes and there are clear signs to show you which bus to take you to universal studios and/or volcano bay. Make sure to read the destination sign on the front of the bus to make sure you're taking the right bus. and 4) the hotel has very friendly staff and it also has a nice gift shop as well that even has a few items that you can find at the universal parks as well.

David Borowski my husband and I went last August in Surfside Inn (they were still working on dockside). If it’s just you two, TOTALLY worth at staying in one of these value resorts! We are planning for the end of the year with our two kids and found it was significantly cheaper though to stay in Lowe’s Royal Pacific and get express passes included than it would be for all four of us to stay in endless summer and add on the express passes. Make sure you compare if you want the express pass! But endless summer was seriously perfect for just an adult trip.

$45 if your visiting, $15 day for guest, most other resorts on the Universal Orlando preperty are $20+ per day for guest. They want to discourage local people parking and using the shuttle to the parks. I dont know the parking cost at the park. Can someone fill that in.

Dont know about the 2 bedroom, but the std room at surfside did not have a hand held, however it is common now a days for hotels to have some rooms setup for ppl with special needs, ie. Wheel chair access to the shower and hand held shower heads, enquire at time of booking if the resort has a special needs suite. Good luck and have fun.

Haven't stayed on property yet. We love the hotels right off property...Holiday Inn Express had a 2 room suite (sleeps 6...we are 5)...shuttle and city Walk is just 2 lights away. We have annual pass so we get early park admission... free parking...and fast passes after 4. So any of those amenities are not as important to us as price.

Thats when more than 2 adults in the room, extra $15 applies after that, this is common added charge most places I have gone to. Otherwise 8+ people will try to camp out in single room, I have done that when in college. ( the extra people used sleeping bags on the floor, ya cant get away with doing that now a days 😃 )

Quite often when a room occupancy is 4 for example what they realy mean is 2 adults and 2 children , its important to ask what a hotel's definition of child is, sometimes it is 11yrs or under, hey Rick can you clarify that ? Rick, Universal is closed for a month. Don't worry I have an idea. This is a great opportunity for Universal to clean and do major maintainence throughout the park. They can spend days on projects, check off everything on their list. They must have people that say "if we only had a few days without a crowd we could do..." You can do videos on what you think needs major fixing and what you would do if you were in charge. Your fan, Chris

Ask front desk ahead of time they are very accommodating, however, they may not have any leaway due to next set of guests for your room, be nice and friendly when you ask. You can always check your luggage in with service's and go to the park if you have late flight, Wife n myself went resort hopping to see other on site resorts for future visits, we checked our bags first, resort hopped and then headed to the airport.

LOL you cant make them do anything 😁, but yes guest services will hold onto your luggage for you after check out if your air flight is after checkout , so you can enjoy what time you have left before you leave, the key word is courtesy, if their storage space is too full or the number of items excessive they may ask you to make other arrangements or charge for items that exceed 2 pieces per person. Enquire with the courtesy / service desk for availability. NB ... they can also hold onto your luggage for you if you arrive early before check-in and want to go eat , and be luggage free for a few hours.
