I find it interesting that people complain that this game is a copy paste, but literally no one has an issue with games like NASCAR Thunder 03 and 04, which are typically regarded as the GOATS. They are literally the same game with small changes (the UI, Grudges & Alliances, Speedzone, etc). Sport games have always been this way, which makes big jumps & changes like in D2D and Chase for the Cup so special. I’m not saying they couldn’t and shouldn’t have done more, but the most important things for me (physics and AI) are noticeably improved. Plus, the new challenge mode is a good way to acclimate to the new feel. This is not a Heat 4 to Heat 5 situation. There are enough differences IMO to warrant a purchase, even if you played the last one.

The career mode in 2004 got reworked from 2003 especially the car upgrade path. This game has the same career mode and car upgrades

@@jimmymyers to an extent, yes, but any good it did made the game even easier than 03 once you got your car upgraded enough. I agree - I would love upgrades in WoO to be more realistic / deep, but at least it’s still hard.

“Repairing” tires drives me nuts in this game. I remember in dirt rack racing 2, on the pc, you had to buy tires and it was costly.

@@kneebon5 I agree. There are little things they could do to help the game in a big way. The “at track” visuals. Why are we in a barn? Put us behind a trailer, and as you progress, you go from an open trailer to an enclosed, and ending in a stacker. Small things that I feel can make it just that much more realistic.

I like IRacing and I’ll buy this to support them in making future grassroots racing games but I wish another company would make a high limits game and give them some competition. People would buy that just for Larson, Sweet, and Rico and it’ll force iracing to improve

I have noticed the ai making more driving errors. I was running second in a super race and the guy leading was faster but he kept hitting the burn and breaking loose. Was able to catch and pass.

Thanks for providing more of a critical view. I think there's a balance to be had between sim and accessible (see: GT7) and it looks like they missed again. I guess I'm still waiting until they put actual effort into the series, although that seems unlikely at this point.

Huge dirt racing guy. No way I'm buying this. Terrible damage model. Dirt is predictable every night on every track. Lame career mode. Should have a calendar where you chose where to go each night. Should have local tracks running weekly events with changing dirt. 410 sprint car roster is freaking terrible. Where are the midwest guys? Why are we running 15 second laps in a 360 at Knoxville? Just too bad that we can't improve games anymore.

Every real world Micro racer can only dream of getting paid nearly 2.5k for coming 12th in the B Main. The game does certainly have the potential to be great for the console audience, but certainly needs some refinement and certainly better customization. Its not iRacing, and its not trying to be iRacing, its trying to be a fun, casual sit down slinging some dirt and its doing a decent job of it, but there's some room for improvement. But certainly if someone hasn't picked up the previous game its worthwhile to grab.

Exact same game, disappointing. Should have just been dlc for the first one with the couple of new tracks and cars. But they probably wouldn't have sold as many as a "brand new" game. I hope it's the case that they have all their development resources tied up in the new nascar game and just didn't have the time to do anything for this and just wanted the cash. @@Daytona_Dad SRX dirt physics weren't nearly as good. World of Outlaws greatly improved on that, but otherwise yeah, it's absolutely just the SRX game with some improvements. I mean we even had better, higher quality cockpit details in the Heat games. I think they need to bring it over to the Unreal engine. Unity is no doubt holding this game back, but not everything can be blamed on that. Some of the issues should be blamed on iRacing's decision makers.

The issue for me is the physics, cars just feel janky and like they are trying to 'look' a certain way while driving them that is too contrived and arcadey and not natural. That's been and will remain the main issue for me with these games, likely the same with the iracing console title too for nascar

They did bare minimum, no doubt about that. I said it when it was first announced, this could be a $20 DLC. They give us basically nothing and then slap us in the face by offering a "Gold" version which includes two of the only four new tracks. Why no improvements to the Street Stock model? Why not add Legends cars, since they already had them made for the Tony Stewart game. Graphically, it's no different aside from some color changes. Cockpit view details are still garbage. I'm frustrated. It's a genuinely fun game, but I'm frustrated.

Really enjoyed the first release of this game, which I bought after seeing the playthroughs on this channel. Seems like the limited amount of new content and limited customizations might be negatives for this release. On the flip side, I'm interested to see what the career mode restructuring, dynamic track state changes between sessions and wing adjustments add to the experience. Could be swings and roundabouts for this one, we like to say.

Man i hope you spent less than 2 seconds on that "gotcha" comment. 1. It is iRacing not i-racing. 2. iRacing is the publisher not the developer. 3. iRacing devs helped tweak the physics for 22, but Monster who is owned by iRacing was the developer, with assets shared with Monster from iRacing. 4. What does this have to do with the point of the video that its the same game from 22. Guess you got me though... good effort... about as much as they put into 24 from 22.

Iracing could have done something great with the game. They could have given console players the iracing experience. Instead they financed another title from monster who's dirt physics are in fact trash. I don't even understand not releasing on pc. It's not competition to the iracing service. It's arcade trash. No console player has ever said I hope the next game as even more watered down physics and is super easy to control. They want a real dirt racing game .... nobody asked for what they got.
